At the time of the reservation

For customers who need medical care by using such things as an artificial respirator, inhaler (nebulizer), portable oxygen concentrator (POC) or aspirator, we will confirm their suitability for boarding with JAL's prescribed medical certificate.
Please consult with JAL's Priority Guest Center as soon as possible.
Please prepare enough batteries because you cannot use the in-flight personal computer power supply.

Customers who request to use a wheelchair, together with customers who have walking disabilities, should please check "Assistance for mobility and wheelchairs".

About people accompanying

If it is difficult for you to operate the medical device on your own, then someone needs to accompany you who can operate it.
Including the operation of the medical device, those people accompanying should please provide care and assistance at the airport, when boarding, during the flight and when deplaning, and should please give guidance and assistance at the time of an emergency.

About the medical device to be used

For the medical device to be used, please inform us of the product name, manufacturer name, model number and battery type. We cannot provide a power supply, including the in-flight personal computer power supply. Please prepare enough batteries yourself.
Batteries are restricted items for air transportation. Please inform us in advance about the type of battery to confirm the possibility of transporting it. Please be aware that we cannot bear any responsibility regarding the failure or malfunction of medical device used by customers. We recommend that you bring batteries that have enough power for 1.5 times the flight time.

About seat reservations

For the medical device, in principle, store it under the seat in front of you to use it.
If it is difficult to store it in the prescribed area, you may have to purchase the seat next to you, or a seat in front of, or behind you.
Since it may take a while to check the medical device, please arrive so there is enough time.
During the take off and landing, in the cabin put your seatback upright, and sit with your seatbelt fastened.

Security Check

It is done with the same details and in the same manner as other customers.
Be sure to go through the metal detector one by one. In some cases a pat-down screening may be necessary, but please be assured that the security staff will tell you what to do.
If you have any concerns, please tell us at the time of the reservation, or at the airport counter on the day of the flight date.

Boarding

Pre-boarding service

For customers who request to use this service, please tell the boarding gate staff as soon as possible.
Staff will guide customers to their seats on the airplane if requested.

In-flight

During the take off and landing, in the cabin put your seatback upright, and sit with your seatbelt fastened.

The scope of assistance by cabin crew

While cabin crew have been trained in first aid, they are not permitted to do a medical intervention such as operating medical device.
