In order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the JAL Group has continued to reduce services on specific routes throughout the carrier`s network and to maintain a safe and secure environment for our customers, JAL has adopted additional measures as follows:
Passengers will now be requested to wear a face mask when traveling on JAL Group flights, starting June 1, 2020.
(Except for infants under 2 years of age and passengers who have medical conditions)
While we understand the need for travel, any customer not wearing a face mask or feeling under the weather may be refused to board.
If any symptoms appear, please consult your physician prior to taking the flight.
Although these procedures may be inconvenient, we ask for your cooperation so that we can provide a safe and secure environment for our customers.
Passengers will now be required to check-in online prior to their arrival at the airport due to avoid contact and congestion during procedures at the airport.
Passengers will now be requested to wear a face mask when traveling on JAL Group flights. While we understand the need for travel, any customer feeling under the weather is asked to refrain from boarding the flight. If any symptoms appear, consult your physician prior to taking the flight.
We kindly ask you to make sure the size and the number of carry-on baggage are within the specified range and to also minimize the bagagge to avoid any delays during check-in, boarding and disembarking the aircraft.
All passenger are requested to secure ample space between each passenger at the boarding gate.
In addition, we will implement a staggered boarding process for passengers to board the flight.
We ask for your cooperation and please follow the instructions provided by the airport staff.
JAL has withdrawn temporary restriction on seat assignment to allow more personal space inside the aircraft cabin at the end of Jun.
It is due to the removal of the state of emergency in Japan. In order to give passengers peace of mind when travelling on board aircraft, we have initiatives, a requirement for passengers to wear masks, air exchange in the cabin, cabin disinfection and so on.

In order to prevent the growing risk of the novel coronavirus infection, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, including other foreign goverments are requesting those with flu-like symptoms to refrain from air travel.
In line with this request, thermographic inspection has been setup at Tokyo Haneda Airport (domestic flights and select international flights) to check the body temperature for passengers. Also, the inspection is implemented at select regional airports in Japan.
