Procedures by Mail

In the event of a member's death, legal heirs can inherit the valid miles remaining in the deceased member's account through designated procedures (JAL Mileage Bank Terms and Conditions Article 14). Please print the "Agreement and Cancellation Form" using the button below, prepare the required documents, and send them by mail.

Important Information Before Proceeding

Heir
If the legal heir is not yet a JAL Mileage Bank member, please join via the button below and enter the 9-digit membership number on the Agreement before mailing.

Please be sure to write the membership number on the Agreement. (If left blank, the request may not be accepted.)

Deceased Member

If the deceased member held a JAL Card with credit card functionality, please contact the JALcard Contact Center first to cancel the JAL Card. Please note that we cannot process the Agreement and Cancellation Form if submitted prior to canceling the JAL Card.

Copy of official document(s) confirming the death of the deceased member and their legal relationship to the heir
(e.g., Certificate of All Records on Family Register (Koseki Tohon), Statutory Inheritance Information Diagram, etc.)

Submitted documents cannot be returned. Please understand in advance.
Please submit documents that confirm both the death of the deceased member and their legal relationship to the heir.
If the heir is not listed in the same family register as the deceased member, the heir's own Family Register Certificate (Koseki Tohon) is also required.
Heirs eligible for mileage inheritance are strictly limited to legal heirs.

JAL Mileage Bank (TCI) Mileage Inheritance Desk

The number of miles eligible for inheritance will be the valid miles remaining at the time the required documents are posted (postmark date). Inherited miles will remain valid until the end of the 36th month following the completion of the procedure.
Valid e JAL Points are also eligible for inheritance, with an expiration date at the end of the 12th month following the completion of the procedure.
Procedures will be completed approximately 1 week after the required documents are received and verified by the Center.
This procedure cannot be completed via the JAL Website.
If you hold a JMB partner card, please also contact the issuing partner company.
