The new Entry/Exit System (EES) will start operations on 12 October 2025.
European countries using the EES will introduce the system gradually at their external borders.
This means that data collection will be gradually introduced at border crossing points with full implementation by 10 April 2026.

Flights operated by JAL will arrive at Terminal 3.
There is no quarantine check.

Duty-free applies to tobacco and alcohol purchases by passengers aged 17 and above, and coffee purchases by passengers aged 15 and above.
If your goods are not in excess of the duty-free limit, please proceed to the green customs lane. Otherwise, please proceed through the red customs lane and make a verbal declaration of the goods you are bringing in.
Prior reservation is necessary if you wish to bring your pet, as the transportation environment within the aircraft needs to be prepared.

Please also be sure to check with the embassy or quarantine station at your destination for animal quarantine information such as import restrictions and required documentation.
Flights operated by JAL will depart from Terminal 3.
Passengers departing from Frankfurt Airport are encouraged to use online check-in or the self-service check-in kiosks, including the self baggage drop facilities.
Japan Airlines is located in Zone 34, in Terminal 3. However, all self service equipment in zones 33-35 may be used.
A staffed check-in counter opens 3 hours and 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. In the meantime, passengers may conveniently use the self-service check-in machines and self baggage drop facilities. Self baggage drop is available from 19 hours up to 45 minutes before departure.
Passengers requiring special assistance are kindly requested to proceed to the staffed check-In counter.

- Ticket changes
- Payment for excess baggage
- Check-in of oversized baggage or pets
- Upgrades
Notice:
If you need to complete VAT refund procedures or similar services, please first print your baggage tag at a self-check-in machine, then proceed to the counter.
For oversized baggage or traveling with pets, please proceed to the designated staffed counter in Zone 34.
Security screening is conducted before passport control in Terminal 3.
Important:
Zippo-style oil lighters are not permitted in either checked baggage or carry-on baggage at this airport.
Please make sure to pack your power banks into the handcarry luggage.

For VAT refund procedures, please proceed to the designated customs counter within the terminal.
You may be required to present purchased goods for inspection during the duty-free check. Please allow sufficient time, as waiting times may be long.
If you are returning to Japan via transit through another country, you must complete customs procedures at the airport from which your Japan-bound flight departs.
In such cases, you may still be asked to present the items for inspection. Please ensure that these items are not placed in your checked baggage for the connecting flight.
