Notices

The monorail combining T1 and T2 at FRA called "SKYLINE" will be renewed.
Therefore the monorail service will be a completely close from 29APR19 - 23JUN19, a duration for 8 weeks.
An air and landside replacement traffic by shuttle busses will be installed by the airport owner Fraport.
Passenger will have to uses these busses for transiting at FRA between T1 and T2 or also to proceed from the any public landside point from T1 to T2 and vice versa.

To passengers departing from / arriving at Frankfurt airport
Due to road construction near to Terminal 2, the traffic pattern to both Frankfurt Airport terminals might be changed or detoured during next few months. Please expect heavy traffic and congestion during the period, and allow extra time for your access to the airport.

Terminal 2

On Level 3, there are toilets, elevators, currency exchange offices, Tax Free counters (for carry-on baggage) and stairs/escalators to In-Between-Terminal shuttle (Sky-line) stand. In Level 2 Arrival Lobby, there are immigration screening, baggage claim and customs. Once you pass through customs, there are currency exchange offices, airport information counters, elevators, toilets, Tax Free counters (for check-in baggage). There are In-Between-Terminal shuttle bus stand outside.

Documents required for entry
Required documents Description
VISA Japanese passport holders are permitted to enter the country without a visa provided that the duration of stay is no longer than 3 months.
Passport Germany and other Schengen Zone countries require visitors to hold a passport that has at least 3 months' validity from the date of departure.
A return flight ticket or e-ticket Please bring it.

Customs

Duty-free applies to tobacco and alcohol purchases by passengers aged 17 and above, and coffee purchases by passengers aged 15 and above.
If your goods are not in excess of the duty-free limit, please proceed to the green customs lane. Otherwise, please proceed through the red customs lane and make a verbal declaration of the goods you are bringing in.

Pets

Prior reservation is necessary if you wish to bring your pet, as the transportation environment within the aircraft needs to be prepared.

In Level 2 Arrival Lobby check-in counters, there are Tax Free counters (for carry-on baggage), toilets, currency exchange offices, airport information counters, elevators, security for passengers to Germany and Schengen Member States. there are In-Between-Terminal shuttle bus stands outside. On Level 3, there are elevators and stairs/escalators toIn-Between-Terminal shuttle (Sky-line) stands. Once you pass through immigration control, there are Tax Free counters (for check-in baggage), currency exchange offices, toilets, elevators, JAL First Class lounge, Sakura Lounge and security.

Check-in opens at 16:00.

Please check in at counters 816-820 in D Hall in Terminal 2.

Security check

A security check is carried out after passport control in Terminal 2.

  • *Please note that Zippo-type oil lighters are not accepted in checked baggage or carry-on baggage at this airport.

Customs

  • *You may be asked to present the goods for inspection during the duty-free check. There can sometimes be a long wait, so please ensure that you allow plenty of time.
  • *If you are returning to Japan via transfer from another EU country, you will need to carry out customs procedures at the airport from which your Japan-bound flight departs. It is still possible that you may be asked to present the items for inspection, so please ensure that you do not put them in your checked baggage on the connecting flight.
