How to use Self Baggage Drop (SBD)

You can check your baggage by yourself.

By using self-service check-in kiosk and Self Baggage Drop, you can check-in your baggage smoothly.

  • Details on equipment and operating procedures vary from airport to airport. Please follow the User Guide on the screen.

STEP 1

 

The self-service check-in machine(KIOSK) will issue a baggage tag, attach the baggage tag to your baggage, and proceed to the Self Baggage Drop.

STEP 2

 

Following the instructions on the display, hold up the barcode on your boarding pass and place your baggage, one at a time, on the belt.

  • Please note that machine specifications and usage procedures may differ by airport.

HOW TO USE

STEP 1-1

 

Issue a bag tag in self-service check-in kiosk.

STEP 1-2

 

Attach the bag tag to your baggage and go to the Self Baggage Drop.

STEP 2-1

 

Place the 2D barcode on your boarding pass over the Self Baggage Drop (SBD).

STEP 2-2

 

Place your baggage one by one on the Self baggage drop belt.

STEP 2-3

 

About the restricted articles in checked and carry-on baggage.

STEP 2-4

 

baggage flows and the check-in of baggge is complete.

What you need for checking-in your baggage

Please have your passport and one of the following boarding passes.

  • Paper Boarding Pass to be given at the airport
  • Home Print Boarding Pass
  • Mobile Boarding Pass

Eligible Customers

Customers who have checked in for their flight and have their boarding passes.

However, the following customers should proceed to an JAL check-in counter for international flights:

  • Customers requiring boarding assistance
  • Customers required to pay excess baggage charges when checking in their baggage

Due to system specifications, baggage tags may not be issued to the final destination if you are not checked in for the connecting flight. Please ask an JAL ground staff for details.

Checked baggage allowance

  • 1 piece of checked baggage with 203 cm maximum total dimension (length + width + height).
  • Bulky baggage such as surfboard or musical instrument are accepted at the airport counter.
  • Baby stroller is accepted at airport counter or special assistance counter.

・Early Check-in Area on the 1st floor at Jewel

 From 8:00 to 23:59, from 12 hours to 3 hours before departure time

Beijing From 2 hours 30 minutes to 1 hour before departure time
Seoul (GIMPO)

From 2 hours 30 minutes to 1 hour before departure time

How to use Self Baggage Drop after registering with Face Express

  1. Turn your face to the camera and start facial recognition.
  2. Put your baggage in Self Baggage Drop.
  3. Follow the guidance to operate the system.
  4. The baggage goes through.
  5. The process is complete.
  • Not necessary to show your boarding pass and passport during the process.
