Left Behind Your Ticket?

If you forget to bring your ticket to the airport but remember where it is, please proceed with the following steps.
If you do NOT know where your ticket is, please see “Lost Your Ticket?”.

Procedures on the Day of Departure

Step 1
It will be necessary to purchase a replacement ticket*1 at the airport on the day of departure.

Tickets can be purchased at any JAL Group city or airport domestic ticket counter.

  • *1 Replacement tickets are tickets that are purchased for the portion of travel covered by the original tickets when passengers cannot present a ticket at the airport on the day of departure.
    Replacement tickets must be purchased from an applicable One-Way, Child or Discount for the Disabled fares.

Step 2
Please receive a Replacement Ticket Receipt when purchasing your replacement ticket.
  • * As Replacement Ticket Receipt CANNOT be reissued, please retain safely the original document.

Step 3
Please travel your itinerary with the replacement ticket.

Please apply for a refund for the replacement ticket at a later date. You will need both the original ticket and the Replacement Ticket Receipt to complete the procedure.

  • * If a credit card has been used to purchase either the original or the replacement ticket, please present the credit card used for purchase when applying for a refund.
  • * Please be advised that all tickets will be subject to a refund charge of ¥430 per ticket.


Refundable Period

The refundable period is 100 days from the date of issue of the original ticket. However, if the ticket validity of the original ticket exceeds 90 days from the date of issue, the effective refund period for the ticket will apply.



Refund Amount

As we will regard you as having boarded the flight with the original ticket, the amount paid for the replacement ticket will be refunded. However, should the fare for the replacement ticket differ from that of the original (i.e. lost) ticket or should you board a flight not covered by the original ticket, the amount paid for the original ticket will be refunded.

  • * Please be advised that a refund charge and a cancellation charge will be incurred.


If the original ticket cannot be found

Step 1
Please receive a Lost Ticket Report within the original ticket’s effective refundable period.

Please receive a Replacement Ticket Receipt at any JAL Group city or airport domestic ticket counter, ticket assistance service desk or where you originally purchased the ticket. The Replacement Ticket Receipt will be necessary when boarding your flight.

  • * The effective refundable period is 10 days after the expiration date of the original ticket’s applicable validity period.

Step 2
Please receive the Customer Copy for your Lost Ticket Report.
  • * As Lost Ticket Reports CANNOT be reissued, please retain safely the original document.

Step 3
JAL Domestic Lost Ticket Desk will investigate any misuse of the ticket use based on your Lost Ticket Report. A refund will be made only when it can be confirmed that the lost ticket has not been used or refunded.

Step 4
JAL Domestic Lost Ticket Desk will send you the result of the investigation by mail.

Step 5
When it can be confirmed that the lost ticket has not  been used or refunded, please send the Customer Copy of your Lost Ticket Report  to JAL Domestic Lost Ticket Desk.

  • * Refunds will be deposited in the specified bank account.
  • * Investigation normally takes around 8 to 9 months after the lost ticket’s date of issue where upon the result will be notified to you. (Please be advised that time required for investigation may differ depending on the type of tickets and fares.)
  • * In addition, an investigation fee of ¥2,000 per ticket or ¥1,000 per ticket will be incurred.

If official documentation cannot be provided when traveling on fares which require proof of identification, the passenger will be required to purchase a replacement ticket in the same way as if the ticket had been forgotten in order to travel the itinerary.
