Procedures Before Your Travel on the Day of Departure

  • To CONTINUE with your travel plans

    Step 1
    Please file a Lost Ticket Report.

    Please receive a Lost Ticket Report form from where you purchased the original ticket or from any JAL Group city or airport domestic ticket counter.


    Step 2
    It will be necessary to purchase a replacement ticket *1 at the airport on the day of departure.

    Tickets can be purchased from any JAL Group city or airport domestic ticket counter.

    • *1 Replacement tickets are tickets that are purchased anew for the portion of travel covered by the original ticket when passengers cannot present a ticket at the airport on the day of departure.
      Replacement tickets must be purchased from an applicable One-Way, Child or Discount for the Disabled fares.

    Step 3
    Please receive a Customer Copy of your Lost Ticket Report and a Certificate for boarding.
    • * Your boarding pass stub can be substituted for a Certificate for boarding.
    • * As your Lost Ticket Report Customer Copy and boarding pass CANNOT be reissued, please retain them for further procedures.

    Important Note

    A Lost Ticket Report cannot be filed without the full details of your ticket. Please apply for a lost ticket with all the necessary information at where you purchased the original ticket no later than the expiration of the ticket’s effective refundable period.

  • To CANCEL your travel plans

    Step 1
    Please file a Lost Ticket Report.

    Please receive a Lost Ticket Report form where you purchased the original ticket or from any JAL Group city or airport domestic ticket counter.


    Step 2
    Please receive a Customer Copy of your Lost Ticket Report.
    • * As Lost Ticket Reports CANNOT be reissued, please retain safely the original document.
    JAL Domestic Lost Ticket Desk will investigate any misuse of the reported lost ticket.

  • * If a credit card has been used to purchase either the lost or the replacement ticket, please present the credit card used for purchase when requesting for a refund.
  • * Please be advised that all tickets will be subject to a refund charge of ¥430 per ticket.


Refund Period

Within the applicable refund period*1 of the original ticket + 3 months

  • *1 If the lost ticket is found AFTER the expiration date of the ticket’s effective refundable period, please follow the same procedures detailed in “Still cannot find the original ticket?” (below).


Refund Amount
  • To CONTINUE with your travel plans

    As we regard you as having boarded the flight with the original ticket, we will refund you the amount paid for the replacement ticket. However, should the fare for the replacement ticket differ from that of the original (i.e. lost) ticket or should you board a flight not covered by the original ticket, the amount for the original ticket will be refunded.

    • * Please be advised that a refund charge and a cancellation charge will be inccured.
  • To CANCEL your travel plans

    The amount of the original ticket will be refunded.

    • * Please be advised that a refund charge and a cancellation charge will be inccured.



Still cannot find the original ticket?

Step 1
JAL Domestic Lost Ticket Desk will investigate any misuse of the reported lost ticket.

Step 2
JAL Domestic Lost Ticket Desk will send you the result of the investigation by mail.

Step 3
When it can be confirmed that the lost ticket has not been used or refunded, please send the Customer Copy of your Lost Ticket Report and Certificate for boarding or boarding pass stub to JAL Domestic Lost Ticket desk.

  • * Refunds will be deposited in the specified bank account.
  • * Investigation normally takes around 8 to 9 months after the lost ticket’s date of issue. (Please be advised that time required for investigation may differ depending on the type of tickets and fares.)
  • * In addition, an investigation fee of ¥2,000 per ticket or ¥1,000 per ticket will be incurred.

If official documentation cannot be provided when traveling on fares which require proof of identification, the passenger will be required to purchase a replacement ticket in the same way as if the ticket had been forgotten in order to travel the itinerary.
