Handling at the launch of the JAL Life Status Program
Converting lifetime flight activity to Life Status Points
Your lifetime flight activity (total number of JAL international sector miles and JAL Group domestic flights traveled on fares eligible for earning miles since enrolling in JMB) will be converted to Life Status Points and credited to your account. You can verify the number of Life Status Points in your account via the JAL website or the JAL Mileage Bank app from around mid January 2024.
How to verify your lifetime flight activity
On the miles transactions page after logging in to your account, navigate to view your lifetime flight activity and then lifetime flight activity.
Lifetime miles for international flights and lifetime number of flights for domestic flights will be converted to Life Status Points.
5 Life Status Points are credited for every 1,000 lifetime sector miles for international flights and for every 1 lifetime flight for domestic flights.
Total: 285 Life Status Points
- Only travel that has been reflected to your lifetime flight activity will be converted to Life Status Points.
- Lifetime flight activity will not be displayed for customers with no flight activity.
- Any lifetime miles for international flights that do not add up to 1,000 miles will be carried over and counted toward flight activity from January 2024.

Frequently asked questions
Q. I qualified for JMB Sapphire based on 2023 flight activity. What is the deadline for enrolling in JAL Global Club under the current JAL Global Club membership qualification requirements?
Open
A. The deadline for applying for JAL Global Club enrollment under the FLY ON Program's membership qualification requirements is March 31, 2025.
If you wish to become a JAL Global Club member, please submit your application for JGC enrollment during your JMB Sapphire or JMB Diamond membership period.
Please note that members will not be able to join JAL Global Club by qualifying for an eligible FLY ON status based on flight activity in 2024 or onwards.
Q. I am currently a JAL Global Club member (primary member or family member). Will there be any changes to services and benefits in/after 2024?
Open
A. You will be able to continue to enjoy JAL Global Club services and benefits in and after 2024.
Additionally, JAL partner services and benefits that are not associated with flights will be expanded from around spring 2024.
More details will be announced on the JAL website in January 2024.
Q. What will happen to JGC Life Mileage, the lifetime activity program for JAL Global Club members?
Open
A. In association with the launch of the JAL Life Status Program in January 2024, we will be changing JGC Life Mileage and transitioning some elements to the JAL Life Status Program.
The current qualification requirements will be used to assess qualification for JGC Life Mileage until April 30, 2023. Information about mementos, services, and benefits will be discontinued at the end of October 2023.
Please note that some services and benefits, such as JGC Five Star services and benefits, will be transitioned to the JAL Life Status Program criteria and continue to be offered accordingly.
Q. Why are you only retroactively converting flight activity rather than all qualifying activity posted before the launch of the JAL Life Status Program?
Open
A. As the JAL Life Status Program will launch in January 2024, as a general rule, qualifying activity from January 2024 will count toward the new status program.
However, we will be converting flight activity to Life Status Points so that our loyal customers who have continued to fly with JAL will also be able to enjoy the new program.
Due to the specifications of our system, only flights flown after April 1980, for which a lifetime flight record has already been registered, will be eligible for conversion to Life Status Points.
