International Transit
- When departing Sydney, you may collect the boarding pass for your onward destination by proceeding from the transit area to the departures floor. You can check your baggage through to your final destination at your point of departure.
- If you have not checked-in your baggage to your connecting flight, please collect your baggage upon arrival in Sydney and proceed to the check-in counter of your connecting airline.
Domestic Transit within Australia
Regardless of what your baggage tag shows as your final destination, you must collect your baggage and clear customs in Sydney.
Transfer to QF domestic flights
If you are transferring to a QF domestic flight, please proceed to the QF Domestic Transfer Desk (located in the International Terminal) to drop your check-in baggage, and then take the QF transfer bus to the Domestic Terminal.
Transfer to non-QF domestic flights (e.g., VA, JQ)
If you are transferring to a domestic flight operated by an airline other than QF (e.g., VA or JQ), you can use the free airport shuttle bus (T-Bus) to the Domestic Terminal.
Transfer to QF5 (to Perth)
For customers transferring to QF5 (to Perth): although you will depart from the same International Terminal, immigration clearance is required in Sydney. After completing immigration, please proceed to the Qantas check-in counter for further procedures regardless of whether you have baggage.
