The Hong Kong Ferry Transfer Service
If you use the ferry transfer service, you are able to transfer from JAL flights originating in Japan to any Pearl River Delta ferry terminal, or vice versa, without needing to carry out immigration procedures at Hong Kong International Airport.

Transfer Procedure
STEP1
Check-in
After arrival at Hong Kong International Airport, follow the signs for Ferry Transfer from "Transfer Areas Ferry Transit E2" prior to Immigration. You are not required to go through Immigration. (If you proceed through Immigration, you will not be able to use this transfer service.)
Go to the special counter in E2 area, and present your passport, airline boarding pass stub, and checked baggage tag to check in for your ferry journey.
STEP2
Use the APM (shuttle) to reach the ferry terminal
After going through the dedicated gate behind the ferry counter, take the escalator to Level 1 and proceed to the APM boarding point. Use the APM (shuttle) to travel to the SkyPier ferry terminal.

Board the ferry to your destination terminal from SkyPier
Important
- Transfers from JAL flights to ferries are only available to passengers transferring on the same day.
- If you are transferring to a ferry via Hong Kong International Airport, please collect your baggage at your final destination ferry port.
(Code share flights follow the rules of the operating company, so please confirm the details at their check-in counters.)
Please ensure that you show your ferry ticket, or a copy of it, in Japan when checking in.
Also, when checking in for a ferry at Hong Kong International Airport, please ensure that you show a receipt for baggage checked in in Japan.
If you purchase a ferry ticket after arrival at Hong Kong International Airport, your baggage will only be transported as far as the airport. However, if you show a receipt for baggage checked in in Japan when checking in for your ferry, your baggage will be moved onto the ferry, and there is no need to collect it at Hong Kong International Airport. - If you do not have any baggage to be checked in from Japan, please arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes prior to the ferry departure time. If you do have baggage to be checked in, please check in for your ferry no later than 60 minutes prior to departure.

Before boarding your ferry, your transfer time at Hong Kong International Airport, and your JAL ticket, passport, and baggage will be checked.

Airport tax refund
If your airline ticket includes Hong Kong Airport tax, you can use the form received during check-in to reclaim it.
Please ensure that you obtain your tax refund at the Airport Tax Refund Counter located in front of the escalator going down toward the APM (shuttle) boarding point.

Please use the APM (shuttle) to reach the passenger terminal building in Hong Kong International Airport.

Go to your departure gate
Please ensure that you are at the departure gate 30 minutes prior to departure (at the start of boarding).
Important
- Transfers from ferries to JAL flights are only available to passengers transferring on the same day. It's also available from ferries to JL7040 and JL7050 (Late-night flight) eventhough flight depertures on next day.
- The baggage check-through service and JAL check-in service at Shenzhen (Shekou), Macau (Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal), Shenzhen (Fuyong), Dongguan (Humen), Guangzhou (Pazhou), Zhongshan and Macau Taipa ferry terminals is also available to passengers who have an applicable onward connection after arrival in Japan. (Details may refer to ferry company) Please note that all procedures for code share flights are handled at the operating airline's check-in counter.
- There are no Japan Airline ticket counters at any of the ferry terminals or at Hong Kong International Airport Skypier. If you need to make any changes to your ticket or adjustments to the air fare, please make advance contact with the Japan Airlines reservation center or the travel agency where you purchased your ticket.
- Due to ferry check-in procedures, you should allow a minimum of 110 minutes to transfer at Hong Kong International Airport using this service (from ferry arrival to JAL departure). However, if you check in for your JAL flight at Shenzhen (Shekou), Macau (Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal), Shenzhen (Fuyong), Dongguan (Humen), Guangzhou (Pazhou), Zhongshan or Macau Taipa, this time can be shortened to 80 minutes.
- As a guide, you should aim board your ferry no later than the times listed below (the amount of time prior to JAL flight departure) for each ferry terminal.
