Regarding the Check-in Start Time
From Oct 1, 2024, The check-in start time will change due to counter construction at Kuala Lumpur Airport.
From 3 hours to 1 hour before departure time.

Immigration
Japanese citizens do not require a visa for stays of up to 90days.
You must meet the conditions below:
- Possess a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after your stay in Malaysia
- Have enough funds in your possession for the duration of your stay
- Possess valid documents to travel home or to a third country
- Malaysian nationality
- Singapore nationality
- Transit to third country without entering Malaysia
- Malaysian Permanent Resident or Malaysian Long Term Pass holder
- Diplomatic or Official passport holder
- Malaysia Automated Clearance System (MACS) holder
- Brunei Common Certificate of Identification(CGI) holder
- Brunei-Malaysia frequent Traveler Facility holder
- Thailand Border Pass holder
- Indonesia Border Crossing Pass holder
- Upon presentation of a boarding pass, Business Class passengers are able to use Priority Lane (Business Lane) through Immigration.
- The Priority Lane (Business Lane) is located near the center of Immigration. (There are signs saying "BUSINESS".)
Registration of Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)
Registration is mandatory for all passengers arriving from December 1, 2023.
Registration 3 days prior to arrival. (including your arrival date in Malaysia.)

Information about Auto Gate
Passport holders from designated countries, including Japanese passports, can use the Auto Gate when entering Malaysia.
Please complete your Digital Arrival Card registration within 3 days before your arrival in Malaysia and proceed to the Auto Gate.
(Except for travelers who are exempted from the Digital Arrival Card requirements.)
Customs
Please follow the applicable signs depending on whether you are within the tax exemption range or exceeding it.
IMPORTANT
- Provided that you declare it on arrival, there is no limit to the amount of foreign currency you may bring in. You are able to take out up to as much currency as you declared upon arrival.
- When you are bringing in currency, it is necessary to fill in a declaration if you are bringing US$10,000 equivalent or more into Malaysia.
Pets
Prior reservation is necessary if you wish to bring your pet, as the transportation environment within the aircraft needs to be prepared.

・From 3 hours to 1 hour before departure time.
The departures floor on level 5 is divided up between international check-in counters and domestic check-in counters. Please go to the international check-in counters on the right-hand side. The airline, flight number, origin, destination, and check-in counter number are all displayed on the monitors, so please check to find the counter for your flight. Airport tax is usually taken at the time of ticket purchase, but if it has not been, please make a payment in local currency when you check in.
IMPORTANT
- For inbound passengers,please proceed to JAL satelite transfer desk for travel documents check.JAL satelite transfer desk will be open at 19:50-21:30.
- Please use the Aerotrain to travel from the MTB (main terminal building) where the check-in counters are located to the satellite building where the departure gates are located.
It depends on the time of day, but the Aerotrain generally runs once every 2.5 minutes.

Information for Business Class passengers about Premier Lane (Immigration priority lane)
- Upon presentation of a boarding pass, Business Class passengers are able to use Premier Lane, a priority lane through Immigration.
- The Premier Lane is located near the center of Immigration. (There are signs saying "Premier Lane".)
Carry-on baggage Customs/Security check
Two security checks will be carried out: one just after Immigration, and one at the entrance to each departure gate.
IMPORTANT
- According to airline and airport authority regulations, it is not permitted to take carry-on baggage onto the aircraft that exceeds the maximum size* or number of items. The number of items of carry-on baggage will be checked prior to Immigration (departures level, passenger confirmation gate), and if it is found to exceed the maximum amount, you will need to return to the check-in counter to check in again.
- *You are allowed one item of carry-on baggage, in addition to personal items (cameras, laptops, etc.), and the sum of its three sides (length, width, height) must not exceed 115cm.
- *Only if the airline approves, second and subsequent items of baggage will be tagged at check-in with a yellow label for identification purposes.
The following types of baggage do not require an ID tag:
- Walking sticks, etc.
- Cameras, camera cases
- Books, magazines
- Bags containing infant travel supplies/food, etc.
- Folding baby strollers (staff will take this from you at the departure gate)
- Jackets, coats, etc.
- Bags containing laptop computers
- Shopping bags
- *Please note that liquids exceeding 100ml (e.g.: drinking water in plastic bottles) cannot be taken through the second inspection at the boarding gate entrance. However, alcohol and cosmetics bought in airport duty-free shops can be taken on board the aircraft in special carrier bags.
