Introducing Life Status Points that can be earned
in everyday situations

Life Status Points can be earned not only from traveling on JAL Group flights, but also by using everyday services (such as JALCARD spending, JAL Pay spending, and JAL Mall purchases) and participating in environmentally friendly activities promoted by JAL.

Life Status Points continue to accumulate over your lifetime

Life Status Points are used to determine your qualification for JAL Global Club*. As you will continue to accumulate points over your lifetime for as long as you maintain your JMB membership, you can aim for JAL Global Club at your own pace according to your current lifestyle.

  • What is JAL Global Club?
    JAL Global Club (JGC) is an exclusive membership club for experienced travelers who have supported the JAL Group over the years. Conditions apply for enrollment.

NEWAdditionally, JMB elite benefits and JMB elite plus benefits will be introduced for JALCARD* primary members. By earning the required number of Life Status Points as you aim for JAL Global Club membership, you will receive two or six complimentary visits per year to the Sakura Lounge.

New lifetime membership statuses: Star Grades

In spring 2024, we will be introducing six Star Grades, which will be offered based on the number of Life Status Points you have earned. As you qualify for higher Star Grades, you will be able to enjoy more extensive services and benefits.
Customers who join JAL Global Club are welcome to enjoy quality services and benefits for the life of the program.

How Life Status Points will be handled at the start of the program in January 2024

Points earned from flights

Starting from January 2024, JAL Group flight activity will be counted toward Life Status Points.
Your lifetime flight activity (flight activity from joining JAL Mileage Bank until December 31, 2023) will also be converted to Life Status Points and credited to your account.

Points earned from using lifestyle services

Qualifying activity from using services in everyday situations will be counted starting from January 2024.

Eligible customers with the required number of Life Status Points will receive JMB elite or JMB elite plus services.

Invitation to JAL Global Club

Eligible customers with the required number of Life Status Points will qualify for JAL Global Club enrollment.

  • Information about how to enroll and the start date for the enrollment process will be announced on this page by around mid January 2024.
  • To join JAL Global Club, as a general rule, you must hold a JALCARD credit card (CLUB-A Card, CLUB-A Gold Card, JAL Diners Card, or Platinum Card). Different requirements apply for customers living outside Japan who cannot hold a JALCARD.

Announcement regarding JAL Global Club

In association with the launch of the JAL Life Status Program, some changes will be made to the JAL Global Club program effective January 2024.

Changes to JAL Global Club membership qualification requirements

The following changes will be made to JAL Global Club membership qualification requirements.

Changes to JGC Life Mileage

In association with the launch of the JAL Life Status Program, we will be changing JGC Life Mileage and transitioning some elements to the new JAL Life Status Program. The current qualification requirements will be used to assess qualification for JGC Life Mileage until April 30, 2023. Information about mementos, services, and benefits will be discontinued at the end of October 2023.
Please note that certain services and benefits will be transitioned to Star Grades under the JAL Life Status Program and continue to be offered accordingly. Information about current services and benefits can be found below.

Announcement to existing JAL Global Club members

Thank you for your participation in JAL Global Club.
Existing JAL Global Club members who have qualified under the membership qualifications up through 2023 will continue to enjoy the same services and benefits as a JAL Global Club member upon the launch of the JAL Life Status Program.
Additionally, after Star Grades are introduced in spring 2024, you will also receive Star Grade benefits and services based on your Life Status Points.
Please rest assured that no action is required from you in connection with this transition.

After the launch of Star Grades in spring 2024, you will be transitioned to a Star Grade as follows.
If the Life Status Points in your account equal or exceed the required points required for the Star Grades indicated
below, you will receive the relevant Star Grade.

*JAL Global Club family members are eligible for JGC Three Star Awards regardless of the number of Life Status points you have.

Effective January 2024, we will be revising the JAL Global Club Membership Rules in line with the launch of the JAL Life Status Program.
