Information about requesting a status card

Important notice

You can now display your membership status on the JAL app home screen.

Status cards are issued only upon request, rather than the previous situation of automatically issuing status cards to qualifying FLY ON status members and JAL Global Club (JGC) members. This change is being made as you can enjoy all of the offered services and benefits by presenting the JAL app screen with your membership status to the relevant staff.

If you would like to request a FLY ON status card or JGC oneworld Sapphire card. please make your request from the request screen below.

Eligible members

FLY ON status members and JAL Global Club members who have qualified for the 2022 or 2023 service year

Applicable status cards

Please request a status card for the highest membership status that you have currently qualified for as of the time of submitting your request.

Applicable status cards

JAL Global Club members who hold FLY ON status will be issued a FLY ON status card with the JAL Global Club logo.

Please note that FLY ON status cards without the JAL Global Club logo cannot be issued to JAL Global Club members.

Request period

February 15, 2022 (Tuesday)  - December 20, 2022 (Tuesday)

Status cards requested during the request period above will be valid until March 31, 2023, regardless of your membership status eligibility period.

Steps to receive a status card

A request for a status card can be submitted when you qualify for a new membership status, need to renew the validity period of your issued status card, or enroll in JAL Global Club in a region other than Japan.
Duplicate requests cannot be submitted for status cards* for the same membership status for the same validity period.

  • If you have already been issued a status card that is valid until March 31, 2023, you will not be able to submit a request for the same membership status for the same validity period while your current status card remains valid.

STEP1

Qualify for membership status

Your membership status is based on the FLY ON Points collected or number of qualifying flights traveled from January through December of the previous year.
JAL Global Club members who do not hold FLY ON status will receive oneworld Sapphire status on the basis of their JAL Global Club membership.

STEP2

Submit a request from the status card request screen

If you are a FLY ON status member, you will be issued only the status card corresponding to the highest FLY ON status level that you currently have qualified for.
Requests can be submitted after qualifying for membership status or enrolling in JGC.

STEP3

Receive your status card

Estimated status card delivery date

Delivery to an address in Japan: Please allow around two weeks.

Delivery to a country/region other than Japan: Please allow around one to two months.

Please note that more time will be needed for requests submitted in February and March.

  • If you qualify for membership status or enroll in JGC in February and March 2023, it will take about three weeks before you can submit a request.

Applicable status cards

  • A new request can be submitted when you qualify for a higher membership status or need to renew the validity period of your issued status card. Please make your request from this page each time you wish to be issued a new status card.
  • Duplicate requests for status cards cannot be submitted for the same membership status for the same validity period.
    If you wish to have your status card reissued, please make your request by phone.
  • Issued status cards will be valid until March 31 of the following year, regardless of your membership status eligibility period.
  • Please note that customers without FLY ON status who newly enroll in JAL Global Club in the Japan Region will be automatically issued a JGC oneworld Sapphire card for their initial service year and therefore do not need to submit a request to receive a status card. New JAL Global Club members in regions other than Japan will not be automatically issued a JGC oneworld Sapphire card and will need to submit a request to receive a status card.

Status card delivery address

  • Your status card will be sent to your JMB registered address. Requests cannot be accepted if your registered address is incomplete or incorrect. Please check your registered address and update it as needed before submitting your request.
  • When you move to a different JMB region and report a change of address, please allow around one week for the address change to be reflected to your JMB membership information.
    Please note that if you submit a request before your JMB membership information is updated, your status card will be sent to your old address.
