Bringing you the Best of Malaysia and Japan
- Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines Joint Business partnership -

Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines have entered into a Joint Business partnership in July 2020.

Beginning 14th August 2022, Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines will expand their codeshare operations to Malaysia Airlines’ new direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo, Haneda.

Furthermore, the airlines’ additional codeshare operations on Japan Airlines’ flights will allow customers to book and connect to a greater scope of Japanese domestic destinations, including Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Okinawa and connect further to international destinations within North America.

Customers travelling between the two countries can take advantage of various benefits of this Joint Business Partnership, including more convenient and flexible itineraries and connections beyond Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur via the respective hubs.

Customers can check-in in advance online or at a kiosk and have up to five (5) hours before departure to drop off their baggage at the dedicated JAL and Malaysia Airlines 'Early Check-in' counters in Haneda and Kuala Lumpur. This gives them the rest of the time to do any last-minute shopping or other activities while they explore the airport.

Through shared common best practices and responsibilities, JAL and Malaysia Airlines will enhance and complement one another to offer the best travel experience via JAL’s recognised precision in service and offerings, as well as Malaysia Airlines' signature Malaysian Hospitality.

JAL and Malaysia Airlines are also committed to upholding the best standards in aircraft safety and hygiene protocols to protect their passengers and personnel, in line with the significant shift in consumer expectations on air travel in the new COVID-19 era.
