Notice to passengers departing from Beijing, Dalian, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou flights operated by JAL
If your reservation, ticket purchase, flight boarding includes departing flight from Beijing, Dalian, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou operated by JAL from September 1, 2021, JAL handling will be in accordance with regulations under Decree of the Ministry of Transport of China.
- Please ensure to confirm JAL Conditions of Carriage (International Passengers and Baggage).
Conditions
The following passengers have boarding conditions.
(A) Children Age 0 to 1 (Infants)
- Newborns age 7 days or less may not fly.
- Children age 0 to 1 must be accompanied onboard by a traveler age 16 or older.
- One adult may accompany up to two infants. However, travelers who are pregnant and due to give birth within 28 days may accompany only one infant age 0 to 1. In such cases, a seat must be purchased for the infant (the Child Fare will apply), and the infant must sit in a child seat.
- Because each flight can only accommodate a limited number of infants, infant reservations may not always be available.
(B) Pregnant woman
- When the due date is in 14 days or less, an obstetrician must accompany the expectant mother.
- A Medical certificate is required if any of the following applies:
a. When the expected delivery date is within 28 days.
b. When the due date is not certain.
c. When multiple births may be expected
d. When there were previous premature births.
(C) Unaccompanied children age 5 to 11
- Children age less than 5 may not travel unaccompanied.
- Unaccompanied children are not eligible for the Child Fare. The applicable Adult Fare will apply.
- Travelers must sign and submit a mandatory consent form.
Excess baggage charges
This will be applied for the customers on JAL departure flights from Beijing・Dalian・Tianjin・Shanghai・Guangzhou. For baggage allowance and charges for checked baggage, basically the policy of airline that you purchased ticket will be applied.
If your baggage exceeds the free allowance, additional baggage charges will apply according to your route.

Overbooking handling on the flight departure date at departing airport
This will be applied for the customers on JAL departure flights from Beijing・Dalian・Tianjin・Shanghai・Guangzhou. For Codeshare flights operated by other carriers, operation carrier’s standard will be applied.
If the number of reservations exceeds the number of seat capacity, and there are not enough seats available, the handling procedure at the airport will be as below.
(A) JL will looking for customers who have already booked the flight and who may voluntarily accept to change the flight.
(B) If JL is unable to find any customers who may cooperate, we may select customers considering age, pregnancy, physical and mental disabilities, illness, connecting flights and following public order and morals, we may refuse boarding.
The following cooperation fee will be paid to customers who cooperated in changing flights at the airport on the day of flight departure upon occurrence. JAL Mileage Bank members may choose either "cooperation fee" or "cooperation miles".*
- In the event customer decides to cancel the trip, compensation will not be paid.
