1 Amami Park

Located about a five-minute bus ride from Amami Airport. Amami Park is home to Amami no Sato, which showcases the beautiful nature, history, and culture of the island, and the Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum, which showcases the works of Japanese painter Tanaka Isson. Due to its easy access, many tourists start their tour of Amami from Amami Park.

3 Amami Marine Exhibition Hall (Ohama Seaside Park, Amami City)

4 Hara Habuya (Tsuchibama, Kasari Town)

This shop produces processed products made from the “poisonous snake Habu”, which is popular as a lucky charm that brings wealth, and all of the production is done by hand. 5 West Court Amami WA・CAFE

6 Mangrove Park (Sumiyo Town)

7 Mangrove Chaya (Sumiyo Town)

1 Kuninao Village

At Kuninao Coast, with white sandy beaches, marine activities such as SUP are popular. You can also enjoy a walking tour around the village, where traditional scenery such as rows of Fukugi trees remain. 

Also, “Miyakozaki” is a cape that juts out into the East China Sea, and is attractive for its unique scenery of low-growing Ryukyu bamboo growing all over the place. You can explore it on foot in about 30 minutes one way.

2 Okinawan Urajirogashi woods in Yamatohama

Okinawa Urajirogashi woods are said to produce the largest acorns in Japan. The trees are said to be 250 to 300 years old, and the "Okinawa Urajirogashi woods in Yamatohama," where these giant trees grow, are designated as a natural monument and are power spot where you can experience the nature of Amami.

3 Yamatohama Boregura

The "Yamatohama “Boregura" is a raised floor storehouse that has been passed down since ancient times in Amami. It was built without using nails, and is designed to be disassembled when a fire occurs, and is also designed to protect the grain stored there. It is a designated tangible cultural property that is over 100 years old, and can only be seen in Yamato Village.
