With quarantine measures strengthening, entry restrictions have become stricter in many countries and the situation is changing on a daily basis.
There have been reports of passengers not being able to enter a country or denied boarding by other airlines at the connecting airport despite having the travel documents that are usually acceptable for entry.
Travelers are advised to check the relevant information from embassies, consulates, and health organizations of the destination country.
A special framework known as the "Business Track" and "Residence Track" has been implemented to facilitate cross-border business travelers,and the holders of statuses of residence of “Student”, “Dependent” and others, in addition to cross-border business travelers of all countries and regions will be incrementally permitted to enter Japan from October 1, 2020.

Effective from January 26, 2021, all passengers 2years of ager or older, including U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents, will be required to meet the following conditions when taking the flight to the United States. If you do not meet the following conditions you will not be able to board. If you are transiting to a third country via the U.S., the same requirements apply.
1.Before boarding, you will be required to present one of the following documents
・The negative certificate for COVID-19 test conducted within 3 days before the flight departure
・Documentation that you have recovered from COVID-19 (a positive test result from an infection with COVID-19 within the past 3 months/90 days and a signed document authorizing travel by an authorized health care provider or public health authority)
You may be asked to present these documents by the U.S. government or state/provincial authorities upon arrival in the United States.
2.Before boarding, you will be required to submit a CDC Attestation to the U.S. government.

Upon entering Hawaii, all travelers from foreign countries (including Hawaii residents) are required to self-quarantine for 10 days after arrival. Travelers are not permitted to leave the quarantine area and violators will be liable to a fine of $5,000 or less or jail time of up to one year or both.
However,passengers from Japan may bypass the State of Hawai‘i’s mandatory 10-day quarantine if they take a COVID-19 test from a trusted testing partner in Japan. The test must be taken no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure and the test must be negative.
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health (DOH) has approved the use of the COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) conducted by a laboratory authorized by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare for the pre-travel test.

The Government of Canada is requiring that all passengers five years of age or older will be required to test negative for COVID-19 before travelling to Canada,it is effective from January 6, 2021, at 23:59:59 a.m. EST.All passenger must be presented to the documentation of a negative laboratory test result before departing to Canada.
The test must be performed using a COVID-19 molecular polymerase chain reaction (or PCR) test and must be taken within 72 hours prior to the flight our flight departure to Canada. And the certificate of a negative result for COVID-19 PCR test must include; (a) the person’s name and date of birth, (b) the name and civic address of the laboratory that administered the test, (c) the date and time the specimen was collected and the test method used and (d) the test results.
Please be reminded that failure to comply with government instructions is a violation of the Quarantine Act and may subject to penalties from the Canadian government.
Anyone who receives a negative test result and is authorized to enter Canada must still complete the full, mandatory 14-day quarantine.
Effective from February 22, 2021, all travellers are required to take a COVID-19 molecular testing at the airport upon arrival and on day 10 of the 14-day quarantine period.
Pre-registration for the COVID-19 molecular test is required prior to arrival. Please make registration from the following website prior to travel to Canada.
In addition, with some exceptions, travellers will be required to be isolated at a Canadian government-authorized hotel for 3 nights while waiting for the results of the COVID-19 test upon arrival.
If you are connecting to a Canad domestic flight, you will still be required to stay 3 nights in the first city of your entry into Canada.You will be allowed to take a connecting flight to your final desination once you get a negative test result.

Based on the recommendation of the Council of the European Union on January 28, 2021, the German Federal Government has excluded Japan from the list of countries whose entry restrictions are to be lifted.
As of February 2, 2021, travellers from Japan will be restricted from entering Germany.
If you hold a long-term residence permit for the Schengen area, including Germany, you are exempt from the entry restrictions and may enter Germany exceptionally if you meet the conditions set by the German Federal Government.
In addition, you must wear a mask in Germany. Since January 23, 2021, you have been required to wear a medical mask (OP mask, KN 95/N 95 mask or FFP2 mask) on public transport and in retail stores, and it is also recommended to wear a medical mask when you have close contact with others or for a long time, especially in enclosed spaces. At Frankfurt Airport, passengers are requested to wear a medical mask instead of made of cloth or urethane.
Violations of the mask's obligation to wear are subject to a fine of at least €50.

In response to the rapid spread of COVID-19 and its variants, the French government has announced that entry into France from outside Europe will be prohibited from January 31, except in cases of compelling reasons.
Travel from Japan is restricted to exceptional reasons only. In order to enter France for exceptional reasons, the following documents must be presented.

Please note that the negative PCR test certificate required for travel to France, which was tested within 72 hours of departure, must be in English or French.The French government also recommends that you obtain test results from "throat" and "nose" samples. If the test result is from a saliva sample, you may be asked to repeat the test upon arrival in France.
A nightly curfew is currently in force in metropolitan France. Between 6PM and 6AM you may only leave your residence with an exemption certificate.
Passengers who may take a long time to get to and from the airport are advised to prepare a "Exception Certificate during Lockdown" in advance.

From January 11, 2021, entry restrictions for travelers from Japan will be re-imposed and entry will be restricted except for return to Finland, transit in Finland, and other necessary travel.
Even for travelers who are allowed to enter Finland, from January 28, 2021, you will be required to bring a negative certificate of covid-19 test which specimen was collected within 72 hours prior to departure or if you have been infected with covid-19 within the past 6 months and have been cured, you will need to bring a certificate of positive test within the past 6 months.The certificate needs to be in English.
You will also be recommended to self-quarantine for 14 days after entering Finland.

Since November 1, 2020, Russia has resumed issuing visas for Japanese nationals and foreign nationals residing in Japan. Those who already have a valid Russian visa can now enter Russia subject to the terms and conditions of their respective visas, and Japanese nationals and foreign nationals residing in Japan who hold APEC Travel Cards (which have "RUS" written on the reverse side) can now enter Russia with these cards in lieu of visas.
This measure applies only to those who fly directly from Japan to Russia and does not apply to those who depart from Japan but arrive via a third country, even if the case of Japanese nationals. For foreigners resident in Japan, please check with the nearest Russian Embassy or Consulate-General in Japan regarding your individual situation.
In addition, non-Russian nationals are required to have a negative PCR test certificate issued within the 3 days prior to their arrival in Russia. 14 days of self-isolation is also a requirement on arrival.

From 22 January 2021, all travellers aged 5 years and over arriving or transiting in Australia will be required to present a negative certificate of covid-19 test which have tested within 72 hours or less before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
All passengers aged 12 and over travelling to Australia must wear a mask for the duration of your flight, and in Australian airports.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, you must undergo quarantine treatment in a quarantine hotel designated by the Australian government for 14 days after your arrival in Australia.
As you will be quarantined at your first port of entry, you will not be able to travel to any Australian city on a domestic flight until the 14-day quarantine period is over.

The Australian government has instructed that all passengers entering or transitting Australia after December 9, 2020, will be required to submit an Australia Travel Declaration.

Scheduled flights are suspended but flights under Air Bubble established by Government of India for Japan will operate on selected dates.

The negative certificate along with the Self Declaration Form, must be submitted online at the Delhi Airport website below.
After submitting the online application, an e-mail confirming the registration will be sent to the applicant, so please save the e-mail to your mobiles, or print it out and carry it with you. You will be asked to present this information by the quarantine officer upon arrival at the Delhi airport.

The Vietnamese government requires all travelers to own an mask when you travel to Vietnam and wear it inside the airport.
The Vietnamese authorities require travelers to submit a medical declaration form upon arrival.

In accordance with the instructions of the Philippine government, all persons arriving in the Philippines from February 1, 2021 are required to stay at designated quarantine facilities (hotels). A PCR test will be conducted at the quarantine facility on the sixth day after the day of arrival. (Except for diplomats and official visa holders)
For Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)
OFWs take a complimentary PCR test on the sixth day from arrival in the Philippines.
Please fill out an online medical declaration form prior to entering the Philippines.
For Non-Overseas Filipino Workers (Non-OFWs) and other foreigners
Passengers traveling to the Philippines should arrange in advance to stay at a government-designated quarantine facility (hotel) for at least 6 nights. Any Non-OFWs without pre-booking of designated facilities(hotel) shall be denied entry into the Philippines.

It is available for Non-OFWs to pre-book paid PCR test and fill out an online medical declaration form prior to entering the Philippines through the website. Your registration will be checked and the payment for the PCR will be completed at the quarantine booth upon arrival.

In accordance with the Philippine Government's instructions, from August 15, 2020, all passengers using public transportation, including aircraft, in the Philippines must wear a face shield. This is in addition to the mandatory use of face masks.
Please note all passengers departing the Philippines after August 15, 2020 will need to prepare the face shield themselves.
The contact tracking app "TRAZE" was introduced in the Philippines effective on November 28, 2020, and those who depart or arrive at airports are required to obtain a barcode regardless of age. Please download the app in advance and complete the registration.

According to the authorities in Singapore, all travelers are required to submit an online health declaration form.
Forms may be submitted from three days prior to departure. Travelers are advised to fill out and submit the online health declaration form in advance.
In addition, the Singapore Government requires all travelers to go through temperature screenings before boarding and to wear a mask on board.
From November 17, 2020, 23:59, all travelers excluding Singapore nationals and Singapore residents, from countries/regions designated by the Government of Singapore as "Countries/Regions at high risk of infection" are required to submit PCR test certificate when you will enter Singapore.
The PCR test must be taken within 72 hours of departure at laboratories that are internationally accredited or recognised by the respective government, and the certificate must be written in English and should be included that the test result, the date that the test was taken and name / the date of birth / passport number.
To minimise the spread of COVID-19, Singapore has implemented public health and immigration measures.

From 24 January 2021, 23:59, all travellers including Singapore citizens, permanent residents will need to take a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival in Singapore.
To expedite the COVID-19 PCR test at the airport, travellers are strongly encouraged to register and pre-pay for their on-arrival COVID-19 PCR test prior to departing for Singapore.
On February 9, 2021, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has announced the partial easing of immigration restrictions for foreigners.
Those who have a valid visa or residence permit for entry, and those who have an APEC Business Travel Card will be allowed to enter Indonesia. Entry for tourism purposes will not continue to be permitted.

Upon entering Indonesia, you must present a certificate of negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours of your flight departure to Indonesia.

Please register in advance to ensure smooth quarantine procedures upon arrival.

It is mandatory to wear a mask or a face cover that can fully cover your mouth and nose at the airport.
All passengers arriving into Hong Kong will be required to undergo a medical test for COVID-19. Travelers will be instructed to wait at the airport or at a designated hotel until the test results are available. If you are instructed to wait at a designated hotel, test results are usually available by the next morning. (Dinner and breakfast will be provided at the hotel.) After going through immigration, travelers should pick up their baggage and board the designated shuttle bus. If you are instructed to wait at the airport, the wait period may be long so you should be prepared to carry all necessities in sufficient quantities before boarding.
Due to the worsening infection situation around the world,quarantine measures are strengthened when entering Hong Kong.
If you travel from Japan to Hong Kong, you are required to arrange a hotel in Hong Kong and submit a reservations confirmation (Chinese or English), even if you own a house in Hong Kong.
And regarding hotel,if you arrive after December 22nd, the hotel must be designated by the Hong Kong Government.
Please check the list of hotels on the Hong Kong government website and arrange by yourself.
You will need to stay at the hotel for more than 21 nights including the arrival date in Hong Kong.
We will check the reservations confirmation upon departure, so please make arrangements in advance and prepare the reservations confirmation.
Please note that if you refuse to submit the necessary information or submit false information, the Hong Kong government will impose up to 6 months imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
Taiwan,Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) imposes entry restrictions to Taiwan for non-R.O.C nationals.
From January 15, 2021, travelers entering Taiwan shall also provide proof of the place of quarantine where travelers stay to undergo quarantine and in principle the place shall be a group quarantine facility or quarantine hotel. Those who choose to undergo quarantine at home shall have met the requirement of one person per residence.

Authorities are requiring travelers to submit an online health declaration form.

According to Taiwan Centers for Disease Control announcement, starting from December 1, 2020 until February 28, 2021 (local time at the place of departure), all passengers arrival or transit in Taiwan are required to provide a certificate of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within three working days prior to boarding the flight to Taiwan.

The Korean government has announced that foreign nationals entering Korea after midnight, January 8, 2021 (Korea time) will be required to submit a negative PCR test certificate issued within 72 hours of departure.
All travelers are required to complete a health condition questionnaire and special quarantine declaration, undergo a temperature screening at quarantine/immigration, submit address and phone number (mobile device) in Korea, and install a self-diagnosis app. In addition, travelers are required to take a PCR test within 3 days of entering Korea and self-quarantine for 14 days. Tom Bradley International Terminal has been testing a new thermal imaging camera since June 23, 2020. Customers are screened with body temperatures at main entrance on the departure level and at one location on the arrival level. Customers are required to wear a face covering such as a mask or bandana and follow the instruction on display while maintaining social distance (hats must be taken off). Guests with body temperature of 100.4 ℉ (38 ℃) or higher may be consulted by the health authorities and recommended to refrain from traveling.

Information regarding changes to inflight services due to the impact of COVID-19
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare asks you to take the following actions before and after your entry to Japan.
The Japanese Government has decided a new and additional border measures for passenger entry into Japan.
All passengers departing for Japan are advised to check the website via the following link.
Ensure that you have a place to stay after entering Japan and a means of transportation (other than public transportation) from the airport to your place of stay.
Any travelers who have stayed in the 'Area subject to immigration restrictions under the Immigration Control Act' within the past 14 days of their arrival will be tested for the Coronavirus infection.*
Travelers will be required to register their place of stay and means of transportation from the airport at the quarantine station.
All persons, including those with no health issues, must stay at places designated by the chief of quarantine (such as a private home) for 14 days* counting from the day following entry into Japan, and must not use public transportation (trains, buses, taxis, domestic flights, etc.) including transportation from the airport.

All people entering or returning to Japan are required to submit a questionnaire about quarantine. Customers entering or returning to Japan at following airports will be required to submit the QR code issued on the Quarantine Questionnaire website to a quarantine officer on arrival.
Target airport -Narita International Airport, Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), Kansai International Airport, Chubu International Airport.

Travelers who are not entering Japan and transferring directly to a third country by transit, are not required to submit any documents and undergo PCR tests.
However, the following cases require entry into Japan. Please be informed that foreign nationals arriving from prohibited countries will not be allowed to enter Japan.
All travelers arriving from an international flight must stay at places designated by the quarantine chief (such as home) for 14 days from the day following their entry into Japan. Travelers must not use public transportation (including domestic flights) to get to their designated place of quarantine from the airport. Therefore, connections to domestic flights can be made from the 15th day after the 14 days of quarantine is completed.
