Temporary service suspension due to transformation of Passenger Service System

  • Due to transformation of Passenger Service System, JAL web check-in service is temporarily unavailable from November 11, 2017 (Sat) 0:00 (Japan Standard Time). Please check the "Changes of web check-in procedures due to transformation of Passenger Service System" for more details.
What is QuiC?

"QuiC" service of international flight allows customers to select seats, check in on JAL website (web check-in) and print out the boarding passes in advance, which makes it easier and quicker to board their flights without check-in at the airport. Please make good use of this convenient service.

How to use

  1. Step1 Use Web Check-In Service and boarding pass can be printed out at home or sent on mobile. Select your seat and register your passport data.Print your e-ticket itinerary reciept and bring boarding pass(either printed out or on mobile) to the airport
  2. Step2 At the airport, proceed directly to security- no need to check-in. No need to line up at the check-in counter. Drop your baggage at the Fast Baggage Drop counter, and proceed directly to security.(*1)
  3. Step3 Go through passport control and show your boarding pass at the gate.Quick and easy!

(*1) At Tokyo (Haneda) Airport, you are required to hold up your boarding pass for the reader at the security checkpoint.

What is Home Print Boarding Pass?

This is a boarding pass that you can print out from your PC after web check-in. It can be printed from 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
Please note that document without a 2D barcode on it cannot be used as a boarding pass. (Please pick up your boarding pass at the airport counter in such case.)

What is Mobile Boarding Pass?

This is a boarding pass that you can receive on your smartphone after web check-in. You can receive it from 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight. The iPhone app "Wallet" is also supported.

On the day of departure, please bring along the required documents, including your Home Print Boarding Pass or Mobile Boarding Pass, your e-ticket and passport. You can go straight to the security checkpoint if you have no baggage to check in.

  • If you have baggage to check in, please drop your baggage at the baggage counter no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight.
  • At some departure airports, you may be still required to check in at the airport counter or Self-Check-in Machine (Kiosk).

About web check-in

Web check-in allows you to select seat from the seat map, or change the pre-selected seat online.

Applicable routes
All JAL Group routes
For the international ticket that includes Japan domestic sector, web check-in is possible from the international flight to the domestic flight.
  • However, the following flights are excluded.
  • Japan domestic flight that is connecting to an international flight
  • Codeshare flights operated by other airlines except American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair and Iberia
  • Charter flights
  • *The same web check-in and boarding procedures apply to both of the return flights (to Japan) and departure flight (from Japan), but not available for flights from Kona due to facility constraints.
  • *Customers using package may also use this service.

Who can use web check-in

Customers using an e-ticket.

However, the following customers are excluded.

  • Passenger with several different flights from the same airport on the same day in the same booking
  • Passenger requiring special assistance at boarding
    • *Passenger traveling with an infant (under 2 years old) may select seats on web check-in, but is required to collect the boarding passes at the check-in counter.
  • If there is another passengers with the same first and last names in the same booking
  • If the Reservation Number for JAL flight is not registered in the booking
    Please make sure to input the Reservation Number for JL/Japan Airlines flight.
    • *For bookings made by travel agents, the Reservation Number issued by their systems may differ from the one for JAL flight.
  • If the Authorization Number is not registered in the booking
    • *Please check with your travel agent where you purchased the ticket.
  • Some tour/package tickets not eligible for web check-in
    • *Please check with your travel agent where you purchased the ticket.
  • If the flight information in the booking has been updated due to reservation change, but the flight information in the ticket has not yet been updated accordingly.
  • Passenger holding a valid US visa.
Web check-in available times
From 24 hours to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time of an international flight.
(Service will be suspended during aircraft change or maintenance.)
Check-in for AA, BA, AY and IB flights
You may also check in your American Airlines, British Airways or Iberia flight on this site from 24 hours, and Finnair flight from 36 hours prior to your flight departure time.
  • * This service may not be available for some bookings made through a travel agency.
  • * Please note that the web check-in for American Airlines flight is accepted up to 2 hours prior to departure time.

About "web check-in advance registration" (automatic check-in)

If you have entered the necessary information such as your passport number after ticket purchase. Web check-in will be done automatically 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, and your boarding pass will be sent to your designated e-mail address. You may simply print out your boarding pass.
If you have not selected a seat, the system will automatically reserve a seat for you during automatic check-in.

All JAL Group routes

  • * For the international ticket that includes Japan domestic sector, web check-in is possible from the international flight to the domestic flight. However, through check-in is not available for Japan domestic flight that is connecting to an international flight
  • * Charter flights and codeshare flights operated by other airlines are excluded.
  • * Flights from Kona are excluded due to facility constraints.

To cancel the completed web check-in

If you wish to cancel boarding the international flight for which web check-in has been completed, you can do so from the JAL website until 1 hour prior to the flight departure time. Go to "International" top page of the JAL website, access to "Web check-in" on "My international booking" tab, select the applicable booking, and proceed with the check-in cancellation procedure. (The itinerary itself will not be canceled.)
