Transfers

Terminal map

You can transfer between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 by QF transfer bus.Terminal 2 is located on the opposite side of Terminal 3.

International Transit

  • a) When departing Sydney, you may collect the boarding pass for your onward destination by proceeding from the transit area to the departures floor. You can check your baggage through to your final destination at your point of departure.
  • b) If you are flying with Virgin Australia or Jetstar, please collect your baggage and proceed to the departures floor to check in.
  • c) Passengers traveling on other airlines should proceed to the transfers counter or the departure gate.

Domestic Transit within Australia

  • a) If your connecting flight number is Qantas Airways (QF) 000-399 (excluding QF200-299):
    • Please carry out the check-in procedure for your next flight at the transfers check-in counter in the international terminal.
    • You can check your baggage through to your final destination at your point of departure. (Excluding QF200-299)
    • * Passengers traveling on QF200-299 (Jetstar-operated international flights) who are either in Economy Class or who are subjected to an excess baggage charge will be required to complete immigration procedures. Please collect your checked baggage in Sydney.
  • b) If your connecting flight number is Qantas Airways (QF) 400-2299
    • Immigration checks will be carried out in Sydney.
      Please exit through the glass doors on the far right of the arrivals lobby in the international terminal, continue straight on for 30 meters, and proceed to the domestic transfers counter on the right-hand side. After collecting your baggage and receiving your boarding pass, please proceed to the domestic terminal on the transfers shuttle bus (free of charge). (Time required approximately 10 minutes.)
    • Please collect your checked baggage in Sydney.
  • c) If your connecting flight is not with Qantas Airways (QF) or is not operated by Qantas Airways (excluding QantasLink)
    • Exit the international terminal and proceed to terminal 2 using the T-Bus shuttle (A$6.00, free for children aged 4 and under).
      For transit to Virgin Australia Airlines (VA), there is a dedicated transfers desk at the end of area C/D in the arrivals lobby.
    • * Domestic Qantas Airways flights QF000-399 board from the international terminal.
      Qantas Airways flights QF200-299 are operated by Jetstar. Jetstar's terms apply.
      Qantas Airways flights QF400 and above and other domestic flights are all domestic.

JAL → other international airlines 60 minutes
JAL → domestic airlines 90 minutes (QF connecting time) *
Domestic airlines → JAL 75 minutes
