JAL politely requests your cooperation in ensuring punctual departures and safe, pleasant flights.
Baggage regulations change from 1 December, 2009.
The size of carry-on baggage you may take into the cabin is standardized among domestic airlines.
The size of your baggage is checked at security inspection. Oversized baggage is not able to be inspected.
Please check them in at the counter.
Only carry-on baggage that complies with our size, weight and quantity regulations can be taken into passenger cabins. Baggage that exceeds our limits, or which cannot be safely stowed on board because of space limitations, must be checked in as cargo hold freight at the check-in counter.
When two or more seats are required for a passenger, an extra fee is charged for the additional seats. For more detailed information, please see Extra Seat Charge.
If you have any baggage to check in, please check them in at the counter and proceed through the security checkpoint no later than 15 minutes prior to your flight's scheduled departure time.
Each passenger in your group may check-in up to 15 kgs of baggage free of charge. The baggage allowance for First Class passengers is 40 kgs.
Please be careful about what you put inside your bags!
If your carry-on bags are found to contain knives or other prohibited items that could be used as weapons at the security checkpoint, you must either discard the items or return to the check-in counter and have them stored in the cargo hold. A box for discarded items is provided at the security checkpoint for your convenience. Please note that Japan’s Civil Aeronautics Law specifies certain items that cannot be taken on board planes as either carry-on or check-in baggage.
