If you use electronic devices such as temperature loggers, please read the information below and notify us accordingly.
Risks associated with use of electronic devices
Use of electronic devices in the cargo hold poses the following risks.
- Risk of interference with instruments
- Risk of causing electrical systems to misoperate or miscommunicate
- Fire risk from lithium batteries
- Risk of legal violations
Approved electronic devices

Please notify us when booking if using electronic devices.
Application for Permission to Use Electronic Devices
For electronic devices not on the above list of approved devices, please submit an inquiry form together with the following documents.
- Product specification (indicate whether the batteries used require a dangerous goods application)
- Test report that complies with RTCA DO-160 Section 21 (21.5) Category H Version E (or later)
- JAL Evaluation Item List (also submit this document if the electronic device emits radio waves)
The times required for approval by each airline are as follows.
JAL / J-AIR / SJO(cargo flights)/ZIP: 2 weeks (approx.)
HAC / JAC / JTA / RAC:1 month (approx.)
