Transportation Equipment by Temperature Range
We offer an extensive range of temperature-controlled transportation equipment to suit customer needs.
~−20℃ Open
Passive Containers
These containers are designed to maintain a constant internal temperature without electricity or any other external energy source.
They are mainly used for the transportation of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive goods.
Containers
These use insulation, heat storage materials, phase change materials (PCMs), and similar to keep their contents within the specified temperature range. They are seen as less expensive to transport and impose less of an impact on the environment than active containers.
−20℃~±0℃ Open
Active Containers
These containers have attracted a lot of interest for the transportation of pharmaceuticals and other goods.
These containers are equipped with their own heating or cooling and use electricity or other power sources to remain automatically within the specified temperature range.
Dryice coolant ULD
A fan powered by a dry-cell battery circulates air that has been chilled by dry ice inside the container.
A particular benefit of dry ice ULDs is that they can be used to transport goods at freezer temperatures, something that is not possible with rechargeable ULDs.

+2℃~+8℃ Open
Active Containers
These containers have attracted a lot of interest for the transportation of pharmaceuticals and other goods.
These containers are equipped with their own heating or cooling and use electricity or other power sources to remain automatically within the specified temperature range.
Rechargeable ULD
These Heat & Cool containers have their own thermostat and battery.
They are charged on the ground and use the stored battery power for precise control during transportation to maintain the temperature inside the container.
- Used for above-zero temperature ranges.

ULD
JAL’s own CC5 containers are of this type!
These non-electrically powered containers utilize the absorption and release of heat by the melting and freezing of latent heat storage materials to keep their internal temperature constant.
Because they do not use electric power, there is no risk of failure for as long as the latent heat storage material continues to do its job.

Covers
These are used to cover goods during air freighting. While they are unable to regulate temperature on their own, they help to minimize sudden temperature changes. Being light and flexible, they can be used for goods of all shapes and sizes.
