We can transport a wide variety of dangerous goods using cargo freighter as well as passenger aircraft
In addition to transportation by passenger aircraft, we can also handle dangerous goods designated as “cargo aircraft only” (CAO) using cargo freighter.

DG AutoCheck electronic checking system for dangerous goods
We have enhanced efficiency and safety by using the IATA DG AutoCheck electronic checking system to improve the accuracy of the dangerous goods check-in process.

IATA CEIV Lithium Batteries certification
JAL recognizes that it is in the public interest for transportation of lithium batteries to be safe and rapid. To meet this expectation and ensure that lithium batteries can be safely air freighted, JAL has joined the NAA community and obtained CEIV Lithium Batteries certification in partnership with other participating companies on February 7, 2025.
Scope of certification
JAL obtained certification on February 7, 2025 for flights in and out of Narita Airport and the handling of goods at the airport cargo terminal warehouse.
Provision of fireproof containers for transporting lithium batteries
To further improve safety, we have expanded the range of fireproof containers (containers and bags) available for transporting lithium batteries
How to use the service
Shippers: Please contact the freight forwarder (air freight agent) directly when booking goods delivery.
Step 1 Booking
Please contact your nearest JAL sales office. Please fill out the Dangerous Goods Declaration Form and AWB correctly in accordance with the dangerous goods regulations.
Step 2 Acceptance of cargo
As inward tender goods deadlines vary between airports, please check or inquire beforehand.
Step 3 Delivery of cargo
As goods pickup timings vary between airports, please check or inquire beforehand.
- Please arrange your own transportation to and from the airport.
- Goods may not be available for pickup within the specified time if the flight arrives outside the customs service working business hours. For more details, please check the acceptance and delivery conditions of each airport.
