Service Overview

Access to the International Terminal Sakura Lounge is available for a fee at departure airports.
Enjoy drinks and light meals, along with access to Wi-Fi.
Take advantage of this space to work or relax before your departure.

Paid access is limited to specific airports and lounges.
Service details vary depending on the airport.
The lounge can be accessed up to 3 hours before your flight departure.
To reduce lounge congestion, we limit the flights eligible for Paid Lounge Access and the number of passengers per flight who may purchase it.

The price includes tax.

Adults and children will be charged the same price.
Children under 2 can access the lounge free of charge when accompanied by a parent or guardian who has paid for entry.
Lounge service may be limited due to capacity.

JMB Diamond, JGC Premier, JMB Sapphire, JAL Global Club, oneworld Emerald, and oneworld Sapphire members are entitled to complimentary lounge service, so no purchase is required. For details on accompanying persons and other information, please see below.

Criteria based on elite tier status

Flight tickets/routes

JAL international flight tickets* (tickets starting with 131)
Scheduled international flights operated by JAL with JAL flight numbers (excluding flights with JL8000 series flight numbers) departing from the following airports:
Haneda, Narita, Chubu, Honolulu, Bangkok

Customers with Economy Flex fares (booking class Y) on flights to Seoul or Guam are also eligible to purchase lounge service.
Flight JL041 from Haneda to London includes access to exclusive lounge services, so no purchase is required.

Certain fares such as group tour fares may not be eligible.
Also, some package tours purchased through travel agencies may not be eligible.

How to pay and use

Purchase Method

You can purchase lounge service on the JAL website either while booking and purchasing your ticket or afterward via the Booking Details page. Please see below for ordering instructions.

Purchases can be made prior to check-in (including online check-in).
Lounge service cannot be purchased at airport check-in counters.
If you are using award tickets, please purchase lounge service from the Booking Details page.
Lounge service cannot be purchased if you leave the page after only making a booking. Please first complete the purchase of your ticket, and then purchase lounge service from the Booking Details page.
Since there are other conditions besides those listed below, please contact the JAL Contact Center if you wish to purchase lounge service.

If the flight ticket has been purchased in a country different from the country of departure
Example: A flight ticket departing from Japan purchased through JAL Contact Center in the United States
If the ticket was changed in a country other than the country of departure
Example: A flight ticket departing from the UK that has been changed at a ticketing counter in Japan

Please select the customer(s) who will be purchasing access.

Pay

Review your booking details on the Booking Confirmation page, then complete the purchase of your flight ticket and lounge service together.

If you leave the page after only making a booking, the lounge service you requested will be cancelled.

Finish

A confirmation email will be sent to the address you provided.

If new flight after change is eligible for this service and lounge arrangements are available, we will adjust charge difference and process exchange of EMD to new flight (limited to within one year from EMD issue date).

If new flight is ineligible for this service (including cases where lounge arrangements are unavailable) or if you do not wish to use service, purchased EMD will be refunded.

Upgrades to higher classes through awards or payment Open

Refunds

After purchasing this service, if no change or refund of ticket is made, purchased EMD is non-refundable.

Handling of Paid Lounge Access Fee (EMD)

Please refer to the information below if changes to your booked flight have occurred for reasons beyond your control.

For customers who purchased tickets through JAL Open

We will arrange lounge service once more to the extent possible.

If rebooking has been completed, no action is required from you.

Please note that rebooking may not be possible depending on the replacement flight. In such cases, purchased EMD will be refunded.

Refund deadline: within 1 year and 30 days from the EMD issue date

Please check the status of your requested service on the Booking Details page before boarding.

How to check whether lounge service has been re-provided on the JAL website

If lounge service has been re-provided, it will be indicated in the flight information section of the Booking Details page.

Please check whether lounge service has been re-provided by the day before your departure.

We will rebook this service whenever possible.
Please note that rebooking may not be possible depending on the replacement flight. In such cases, purchased EMD will be refunded.

This fee does not qualify for mileage or FLY ON point accrual.
Lounge service cannot be purchased at airport counters or on board the aircraft.

International flight lounge service

If you gain JMB status after purchasing your ticket and qualify for free lounge access, please contact the JAL Contact Center to request a refund of the purchased EMD.
This service cannot be transferred to another person.

Can I purchase access to the First Class Lounge?

Paid access is not available for First Class Lounges.

I am a JAL Global Club member; do I need to purchase lounge service?

No, a purchase is not necessary. JMB Diamond, JGC Premier, JMB Sapphire, JAL Global Club, oneworld Emerald, and oneworld Sapphire members can use the lounge free of charge for up to 1 accompanying guest.

Are there any limits on the flights eligible for Paid Lounge Access or the number of passengers who may purchase it?

To provide a comfortable lounge environment, we limit the flights eligible for Paid Lounge Access and the number of passengers who may purchase it, with access provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is it possible to purchase lounge service at the airport counter?

Lounge service cannot be purchased at airport counters. Please purchase it on the JAL Website.

I don’t recall any lounge time restrictions when I flew Business Class. Why is paid access allowed only starting from 3 hours before departure?

To reduce lounge congestion and ensure a comfortable environment, access is allowed starting from 3 hours before departure.
