Revised Fuel Surcharge Effective From OCT, 2025

Please be informed that Japan Airlines Co., Ltd (JAL) obtained approval from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLITT) for the revised fuel surcharge with effective date of OCT, 2025.
The international cargo fuel surcharge is JPY56/kg for Long-haul routes, JPY34/kg for Asian long-haul routes and JPY30/kg for Asian short-haul routes for the shipments departing from Japan.
JAL will continue to reduce costs and aim to enhance the quality of our service by responding to the fluctuations in fuel prices on a monthly-basis. Detailed conditions of the fuel surcharge are as follows:
- The starting date of the surcharge is OCT 1, 2025 (AWB issued date).
- The surcharge is applicable on the chargeable weight shown on the AWB.
- The surcharge is not applicable to Minimum Charge shipment.
- Please add fuel surcharge code “MYC” and the applicable amount in the “Other Charges” field on the AWB. In addition, add the fuel surcharge amount along with other charges in “Total Other Charges Due Carrier” column on the AWB.
- The surcharge may be paid either on PP or CC basis; however, it should be consistent with the payment for Weight Charge.
