Typhoon Faxai 2019 Relief Effort Miles
The JAL Group extends its deepest sympathy to those affected by Typhoon Faxai (Typhoon No. 15) which hit the Kanto region on September 7-9, causing massive damage to homes, widespread blackouts, water outages and other devastation in Chiba Prefecture and elsewhere in the region.
To assist the effort for quick recovery, the JAL Group has decided to offer support and assistance through donation. We also ask for cooperation from JMB members to support the people affected by Typhoon Faxai through Charity Miles.

Mileage for donation
Donations will be accepted in units of 500 miles on the JAL website.
- The JAL Group will donate the equivalent amount in cash (1 mile = ¥1) to the Chiba Prefecture Community Chest (Chiba Kyodo Bokinkai), a social welfare corporation.

The Chiba Prefecture Community Chest is a social welfare corporation that accepts donations through community chest drives, offers grants to social welfare activities, and provides assistance to disaster areas and victims.
In response to the damage caused by Typhoon Faxai, the Chiba Prefecture Community Chest has been accepting donations, offering support in volunteer center activities, and assisting in the restoration of affected social welfare facilities.
- This Charity Mile donation will not be eligible for tax relief for JMB members or JAL.
