This fact is even documented in "Ikigai," the celebrated book co-authored by Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia. 
Food is very important for good health and longevity, and "Emi-no-mise"( restaurant)
serves local vegetables that the elderly have been eating for a long time, as well as dishes based on these vegetables using recipes passed down from the village grandmothers.
