Canmore Ski Village is located in Higashikawa, a neighboring town of Asahikawa, and is easily accessible from Asahikawa City and Asahikawa Airport. You’ll find easy slopes for beginners and more challenging slopes for intermediate skiers or those looking to hone their skiing skills. There are also steeper runs for the more experienced skiers. Nightskiing can be enjoyed at surprisingly low rates.
At the resort, you’ll find rental services for ski equipment and even a small lodge for dining and relaxation. Canmore offers a welcoming environment for novice skiers and families, with its gentle slopes, affordable pricing, and easy access from nearby cities.
Kitoushi Forest is located near the Canmore Ski Village and is fully equipped with long-stay cabins. You can also try various experiences, including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and observing the country’s wildlife.
Nearby is a hot springs facility designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Using groundwater rich in minerals from the Daisetsuzan mountain range, visitors can enjoy a luxurious time to heal body and soul. Finnish saunas with different themes are also recommended.
Canmore Ski Village is considered a "local hole-in-the-wall" among Hokkaido's ski resorts and is less crowded than larger ski resorts. Canmore Ski Village also has a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy winter sports without the crowds. While it does not have the expansive terrain or advanced runs of the larger resorts, the powder snow first thing in the morning is well worth the experience.
