JAL International Passenger Fare Fuel Surcharges
|
|
El Segundo, CA – Information as of November 16, 2006:
The JAL Group introduced fuel surcharges in February 2005 in response to rises in the cost of fuel.
The unprecedented rise in the cost of fuel continues, however, the recent fuel price has lowered to a certain level and the condition for reducing the surcharge amount has been met, we have decided to reduce the surcharge for tickets issued on/after January 1st, 2007.
The surcharge applies to flights operated by Japan Airlines and its international subsidiaries JALways and Japan Asia Airways including JAL code-share flights operated by other airlines.
JAL Group will reduce the surcharge for tickets issued on/after 1st day of the 2d month afterwards once the price of Singapore kerosene falls below the benchmark of US$80 per barrel for 30 consecutive working days immediately before the 10th (in case the 10th is not a working day, the next working day will apply) of each month. The surcharge will be progressively reduced as the price of fuel decreases, and will be cancelled completely for tickets issued on/after 1st day of the 2d month afterwards when the price of Singapore kerosene falls below the benchmark of US$40.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive working days immediately before the 10th of each month.
