End of the temporary border control measures to enter Japan (Updated May 8 2023)

As the classification of COVID-19 under the Infectious Diseases Control Act changed on May 8, 2023, all border measures, including provisional measures, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 were lifted on May 8, 2023. However, the quarantine measures upon entry into Japan may be strengthened as necessary, if a new outbreak occurs overseas.
