Strengthening of Short-Circuit Prevention Measures for Portable chargers (Power Banks)

Effective March 1, 2025, under the directive from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, we will be checking at the check-in counters and security checkpoints to ensure that short-circuit prevention measures* for power banks are in place for passengers departing from Seoul.

Please implement short-circuit prevention measures using one of the following methods.

1. Store each battery in a separate plastic bag.

2. Apply insulating tape to the terminals.

3. Protect the terminals with caps.

If you are using an airline other than JAL operated, please contact the respective airline.

*Short-circuit prevention measures: Store in the retail packaging at the time of purchase, insulate the terminals (protect exposed terminals with tape, etc.), or store individual batteries in separate plastic bags or protective pouches.
