Notice of Mandatory Security Inspection under the Civil Aeronautics Act

Thank you very much for flying with Japan Airlines.

With the revision of the Civil Aeronautics Law, it will become mandatory to undergo a security check before boarding an aircraft from March 10, 2022. 

Proceeding beyond the security checkpoint without undergoing a security check is a violation of the Civil Aeronautics Law and may result in imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to ¥500,000. 

When boarding an aircraft, please follow the instructions of the security officer and related staff to undergo the security inspection.

In accordance with the instructions from the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the inspection procedures before boarding an aircraft including coat inspection, shoe inspection, and explosives inspection have been strengthened from September 13, 2019.  As a result, it may take some time to complete the security checks, so please arrive at the airport well in advance.
