JMB handling following to Alaska Airline's joining oneworld alliance (Last Updated September 24, 2021)
Alaska Airlines will be joining oneworld alliance on March 31, 2021.
Please be advised JMB handling after Alaska Airlines's membership to oneworld and onwards as below.
(1) Flight Mileage Accumulation / FLY ON Points
From March 31, 2021 (departure date) and thereafter, mileage accumulation applicable class and rate will be changed.
Codeshare are eligible for mileage accrual only when operated by oneworld alliance airlines, Horizon Air (QX), and SkyWest Airlines (OO) with AS flight numbers.
(2) Award Tickets
- oneworld Award Tickets: Starting April 1, 2021 09:00am (Japan time), oneworld award ticket including Alaska Airlines (AS), Horizon Air (QX), SkyWest Airlines (OO) flight that departs on/after March 31, 2021 will become available.
- Alaska Airlines Award Tickets: Alaska Airlines Award Tickets will remain available on March 31, 2021 and onwards.
Due to system updates, new reservation and booking change through JAL website had been temporarily suspended from February 25, 2021, but now JAL have resumed new bookings for Alaska Airlines Award Tickets as follows:
On Economy Class: on/after September 1, 2021
On Business Class: on/after September 21, 2021
The changes for the bookings, on either Economy ,Business, or First class, made before resume on JAL website continue to be not available through JAL website.

(3) Oneworld Elite Status
From March 31, 2021, oneworld benefits will become available according to respective oneworld elite status when flying Alaska Airlines (AS), Horizon Air (QX), SkyWest Airlines (OO) .
