About visas

You must obtain a valid visa before entering India. For details, please check with the Embassy of India in Japan or the Consulate General of India in Osaka.

The Government has now decided to make a graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions for more categories of foreign nationals and Indian nationals who wish to enter or leave India on 22nd Oct 2020.

Therefore, it has been decided to permit all OCI and PIO card holders and all other foreign nationals intending to visit India for any purpose, except on a Tourist Visa to enter.

If the validity of such visas has expired, fresh visas of appropriate categories can be obtained from Indian Mission/Posts concerned.

About submission of customer information

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the Government of India obliges airlines to submit information about all passengers. Customers who have booked tickets to India are kindly requested to submit the necessary information to Japan Airlines from the following, by 5 days before the date of departure. After that, please declare at the airport counter on the day of departure.

  • Due to the decision of the Government of India on November 17, it is no longer necessary to submit a Undertaking & Consent Form on and after 20th November.
    You will still need to submit your customer information and Air Suvidha Self Reporting Form.

For the arrival at Delhi& Bengaluru Airport (submission of Self Reporting form, Exemption Request for institutional quarantine, and connections for domestic flights in India)

1.about submission of Self Reporting form

It is recommended to apply for Self-Reporting Form online from the Delhi Airport. Please apply from below. After applying, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the applicant. Please save it on your mobile phone / tablet or carry a printed piece of paper with you. Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, quarantine officers will ask you to present it.

  • If it is difficult to apply online, you can also apply with paper after arrival.

2.for passengers who wish to be exempt from institutional quarantine, home quarantine and those who wish to transfer in India on the same day or the next day of arrival

By undergoing a PCR test within 72 hours* of the start of your trip and applying from below, passengers are exempted from institutional quarantine, and home quarantine as well under the condition of self-monitoring of their health for 14 days after the arrival. 

This application also will be applicable for those who have domestic connections on the same day and the next day of arrival at Delhi.

  • This web application is not applicable for NRT=BLR flight customers. Those travellers may submit a negative RT-PCR test report upon arrival, done within 72 hours before the start of your trip.
  • The Government of India updated its instructions on November 5.
  • Please save the approval screen on your mobile phone / tablet or carry the printed paper with you after applying. After arriving at Delhi Airport, quarantine officers will ask you to show the approval evidence.
  • If you cannot apply online, you can also apply for the exemption of institutional quarantine at Delhi airport with a negative result certificate of Covid-19. However, the application at the airport may take some time to complete.
  • There is no particular instruction from the Government of India regarding the format of the PCR test. Please prepare a general English version that includes a description such as RT-PCR or real time PCR and the information of the test implementation time.
  • Please check the restrictions on the final destination for yourself.

How to apply

  • Passenger needs to email to delinfo@jal.com* and share their confirmed PNR and Ticket number. (*Please note this email is only used for this campaign. JAL shall not be responsible for unattended query to this email once the campaign is over.)
  • PNR should have JMB number. (JAL or One world members can further avail free baggage allowance as per their card entitlement)
  • The request should be made 48 hours before the departure time of the flight.
