About visas

You must obtain a valid visa before entering India. For details, please check with the Embassy of India in Japan or the Consulate General of India in Osaka.

The Government has now decided to make a graded relaxation in visa and travel restrictions for more categories of foreign nationals and Indian nationals who wish to enter or leave India on 22nd Oct 2020.

Therefore, it has been decided to permit all OCI and PIO card holders and all other foreign nationals intending to visit India for any purpose, except on a Tourist Visa to enter.

If the validity of such visas has expired, fresh visas of appropriate categories can be obtained from Indian Mission/Posts concerned.

About submission of customer information

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the Government of India obliges airlines to submit information about all passengers. Customers who have booked tickets to India are kindly requested to submit the necessary information to Japan Airlines from the following, by 72hours before the time of departure. After that, please declare at the airport counter on the day of departure.

  • Due to the decision of the Government of India on November 17, it is no longer necessary to submit a Undertaking & Consent Form on and after 20th November.
    You will still need to submit your customer information and Air Suvidha Self Reporting Form.

For the arrival at Delhi& Bengaluru Airport (submission of Self Reporting form)

It is necessary for all passengers to (1) apply for the Self-Declaration form online and (2) upload the negative certificate of the RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours before the start of the trip from the Delhi Airport website. After application, an e-mail confirming your registration will be sent to the applicant, so please save it on your mobile phone/tablet or carry a printed piece of paper with you. Also, be sure to carry a negative certificate with you. *1

  1. The above rules will be applied.
  • Arrival in India without proof of negative report is only permitted in an emergency due to the death of a family member. However, if you apply for an exemption on the Delhi International Airport website 72 hours before the start of your trip and the exemption is approved, it will be accepted.
  • There is no particular instruction from the Government of India regarding the format of the PCR test. Please prepare a general English version that includes a description as RT-PCR and the information of the test implementation time.
  • Please check the restrictions on the final destination for yourself.
