Open Tickets for Cancelled Flights
This page offers guidance on how to use an open ticket issued for a cancelled flight.
Expiration Dates
Each open ticket is valid for a limited period of time.
Please be sure to travel on an alternate flight or obtain a refund before the respective expiration date.
The expiration date varies based on the fare type.

- To obtain a refund, please contact the JAL call center (Domestic Reservation and Information) by the expiration date. (Refunds cannot be processed on the website.)
How to Use an Open Ticket
Step 1
Check the Open Ticket's Ticket Number
A ticket number is required to register an open ticket. Use e-Ticket Search and search by Order Number or JMB membership number to find the ticket number.
Check the ticket number and expiration date. (Expiration dates that were extended due to delays or cancellations are not shown.)
Step 2
Book a Flight
Select a flight with an available seat of the same fare type* as your open ticket and complete your booking.
- When booking one leg of a Round-Trip Fare or a flight with no seats available at the same fare, select "One-Way Fare."
Step 3
Register the Open Ticket's Ticket Number
- Flexible fare* ticket converted into an open ticket by JAL call center. : Register via the website.
- One-Way Fare, Child Fare, Round-Trip Fare, Discount for the Disabled, JAL Business KIPPU, e-Business, Remote Island Fare,Care Giver's Saver Fare, Special Transit Fare
Click the "Register Open Ticket" button on the Booking Completion screen or Booking Detail screen to register an open ticket for the booked flight.
- Open tickets other than the above：Contact the JAL call center (Domestic Reservation and Information) to register.
