Customers Using Medical Oxygen Bottles

As oxygen bottle is categorized as dangerous good when carrying them on an aircraft. From this reason, onboard oxygen must be either supplied by JAL, or prior permission must be obtained by JAL.
Please contact us as soon as your travel plan is decided.

Upon Reservation

Advance notice.

INT 72 hours advance notice is required for international flights.

DOM 48 hours advance notice is required for domestic flights

  • *There is a limit to the number of JAL's oxygen bottles which can be rented.
  • *The aircraft's emergency oxygen supply cannot be used for this purpose.
Charge

INT JPY 10,000 per bottle for international flight

DOM JPY 3,000 per flight sector for domestic flight

  • *We provide oxygen for in-flight use only (not for use at the airport). You will need to make your own arrangements if you need ground oxygen at departure, connecting or arrival cities.
Documents Required The customer is required to submit the necessary documents as soon as the travel plan is decided.

Please advise us the oxygen flow rate(Liter per minutes) as soon as your travel plan is decided.

Arrangements of the oxygen bottle will started after receiving the customers information regarding the oxygen flow rate.

  • *Please also be advised that JAL may not be able to prepare the oxygen bottles depending on the stock inventory.

About an Escort

A trained attendant who can handle such oxygen bottles is required.

For safety reasons, a customer is required to travel with an escort or attendant who can help and assist when boarding, during take-off/ landing, and in an emergency.

ATTENTION

The escort above cannot be accompanied by an infant under 3 years old. In this case, please arrange another escort to take care of the infant. Furthermore, a Priority Guest who using medical oxygen bottle accompanied by an infant and/or a child must also arrange another escort to take care of the children.

Operation instruction of the oxygen bottle

The customer or the escort must need to fully understand the operating instruction of the rental oxygen bottle in advance.
We will send the operating instruction of the oxygen bottle by fax to the customer before departure.

Specification and accessories

It is a 300l medical oxygen bottle.
The flow rate can be adjusted between 0.5-6 liters per minutes.
Oxygen Conserving device:Daikin Industries/Lite TEC DS20
Is provided in the rental package.

About advance seat selection service

Please advise us if you have any seating preference, such as seat with movable armrests or a seat near lavatory.

  • *We are unable to arrange exit seats due to safety requirements.
  • *Please be advised that seat assignments are subject to change, due to the reasons such as aircraft change.

About guidelines of check in time

Please come to the airport with sufficient time before check-in closing time. Itfs necessary to file [confirmation form regarding rental medical oxygen bottle] when check-in at the counter.

In the Cabin

By law, the flight attendant is not allowed to operate the oxygen bottles in the cabin, as it is considered as a medical practice.

Storage Location when usage

The first 2 bottles will be stowed underneath the seat in front of the customer. The third bottle will be stowed by the cabin attendant till it is needed.

Upon Airport Arrival

We require you to deplane last.
If you request, we can escort you to the arrival lobby and assist you to meet up with your pick up.
Please feel free to inquire.

  • *INT By law, use of the customer's own medical oxygen bottle in the cabin and its carriage as checked baggage are prohibited on USA routes (including Guam).
  • *We cannot accept oxygen packs for sports use.
    Oxygen generators are not allowed in checked baggage or carry-on baggage.
    Customers must arrange for oxygen at the airport and layover cities.

Upon Reservation

Personal Oxygen Bottles
Customers are permitted to bring and use their own oxygen bottles onboard if it is within the below conditions.

  • Small gaseous oxygen (not liquefied gas) for medical purposes only.
  • Need to be tested for storage of 3youears(5 years in some cases)
  • Size: 70cm height and 10cm diameter, as it is stored underneath a seat. The cylinder should be certified by the government. Each cylinder must not exceed 5kg gross weight

Customer can use it if enable in the aircraft.(Itfs necessary to submit Medical certificate for JAL)
