Every trip with Japan Airlines Premium Economy Class is a journey of relaxation and ease—a space designed with your comfort in mind. From the moment you check in to your flight to the moment you land, JAL is committed to making your experience both premium and memorable.

No matter how long your flight may be, you want it to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. When you book a Premium Economy Class Ticket, you get all the perks and services that come with it. Think priority lanes, lounges, inflight amenities, and other services that take your experience to another level.

Why should you book a Japan Air Premium Economy Ticket?

Your premium experience starts even before your flight, with special check-in counters, a lounge where you can relax, and priority boarding so you don’t have to wait too long.

A luxurious experience at an affordable price

Priority check in

Priority check in

Skip the long lines and check in at our dedicated check-in counters for Premium Economy Class passengers. Instead of waiting in long lines to check in your luggage, you get priority service at our dedicated check-in counters for Premium Economy Class passengers. They are available at Haneda Airport, Narita International Airport, Kansai International Airport, and Chubu Centrair International Airport.

At other airports, Premium Economy Class passengers may check in at the Business Class counters. Simply show your ticket, and the JAL service crew will assist you right away.

Note on luggage: Premium Economy Class passengers have up to two (2) pieces of free checked baggage—each one with a limit of 23 kg.

Lounge access

After clearing baggage inspection and departure control, you may proceed to JAL’s airport lounges for a moment of relaxation while waiting for your flight. Premium Economy Class passengers may use the priority security checkpoint lanes at Narita International Airport.

Depending on availability and entry criteria, some airports allow Premium Economy fliers to enjoy lounge services. In those lounges, you can enjoy a meal or some snacks before your flight or have a quiet space to catch up on work. The lounges come with free Wi-Fi, comfortable chairs with runway views, and large tables. Some lounges also offer showers for you to freshen up before you depart.

Be sure to check with the lounge at the departure airport to check if your ticket is eligible. Alternatively, some airports allow you to stay in lounges for a minimal fee.

Priority boarding

JAL Premium Economy Class passengers get priority boarding after Business Class passengers. Skip the long lines and endless waiting and make your way to your seat before the rest of the passengers. This is perfect for families traveling with children or seniors, so you don’t have to wait too long.

Maximum comfort at a lower cost

The Premium Economy Class cabins are designed to make your trip as comfortable as possible with inflight perks and services. You’ll get so many more perks and amenities compared to economy class but at a lower cost than business class.

From upgraded seats designed for maximum comfort to partitions that provide privacy to a wide selection of food and drinks, the entire flight experience has been designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.

Upgraded seats

Upgraded seats

JAL’s Premium Economy Class flights now feature world-class seats that have been significantly upgraded from the previous seats.

The upgraded seats let you recline without tilting backward, preserving your personal space and allowing you to relax completely without bothering the passenger behind you. This also means more space for you, even when the passenger in front of you reclines.

You’ll also find legrests that can be adjusted to the height you want so you can sit comfortably throughout the flight. This allows you to get better rest so you don’t feel tired when you get off the plane.

JAL Premium Economy seats also come with privacy partitions, so you can have your own space. Enjoy a book, scroll through your phone, take a nap—do anything you want to do without worrying about your seatmates.

In-flight entertainment

Each seat comes with a touch panel personal screen where you can watch inflight movies or other videos. You’ll find some of the latest blockbuster films, music, and even travel documentaries to inspire you.

Want to catch up on work? The seat tables are large enough to fit your laptop. You can set up a mini workstation with your tablet and laptop. The A350 aircraft also has fold-out trays for your tablet. Plus, all seats feature laptop power outlets and USB ports so you don’t have to worry about your devices running out of battery.

Delicious inflight meals

Delicious inflight meals

From special meals to unique snacks and drinks, flying in Premium Economy class lets you enjoy a variety of food throughout your flight.

You can enjoy special dishes created by master chefs that will introduce you to a variety of flavors and make your trip all the more enjoyable. If you’ve got food allergies or health-related concerns, we have special meals for you. You can find low-fat or low-gluten options or even meals with minimal allergens. For passengers with Kosher or Halal food requirements or who wish to enjoy vegetarian meals, you can also request them prior to your trip. Parents flying with kids can also request special meals for children.

Please note that the food served may vary depending on routes and that there is a deadline for requesting the special meals.

JAL also has other inflight menu options you can enjoy. If you’re on a long-haul flight, you can enjoy various snacks, like the Udon de Sky, a special kind of cup noodles.
