Towada-Hachimantai National Park/Oirase River


A mountain stream that is beautiful in every season

The stretch of the Oirase River flowing for a distance of about 14 kilometers from Lake Towada to Mount Yakeyama is designated as a special scenic site by the government and natural monument inside Towada-Hachimantai National Park. It is accented with many waterfalls and scenic spots. Along the banks are a paved road and trails affording strollers good views of the scenery, which varies with the season, from deep green to brilliant autumn colors.
