Mido-suji Illumination was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2014 for the number of lights used to decorate trees on a single city street. The street is 4 km long Mido-suji Street, which runs north-south through the middle of Osaka. Osaka Hikari Renaissance is held in Nakanoshima, which features a beautiful contrast of water and lights. These two events take place as part of a light festival held to show off Osaka's beautiful night views in cooperation with other unique local programs. An estimated 11.54 million visitors attended festival events in 2015, and more than 10 million visitors from both inside and outside Japan are expected in 2016.
