Best time to see: Late March to early April
About 1,000 Yoshino cherry blossom trees bloom all around the stage of the temple. The beautiful scenery, which seems to symbolize the spring of Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital, looks just like a postcard. At night, the place's look changes entirely, with about 500 spotlights illuminating the temple and cherry blossoms in full bloom, creating a fantastic-looking space.
*The main hall will undergo renovation work to replace the hinoki bark thatching from around April 2017.
