Effective for reservations made from November 1, 2015, revisions will be made to the mileage required for JAL International First Class and Business Class award tickets.
At the same time, Business Class and First Class award tickets will be offered at the old mileage requirements for outbound and return flights that depart on certain days of the week only. These award tickets will be available only on the JAL website.
JAL International Award Ticket Discount Mileage will continue to be available in FY2015 for Economy Class and Premium Economy Class. With discount mileage, award tickets for North America routes during Period B can be redeemed for as few as 35,000 miles. Similarly, award tickets for Europe routes during Period B can be redeemed for as few as 38,000 miles.
JALCARD holders can save an additional 1,000 miles round trip.
Starting from April 1, 2015, longer deadlines will be introduced as follows for reservations made by phone.
Starting from April 1, 2015, JAL International Award Tickets can be changed to the next higher class of service for the same flight sectors without incurring a mileage reinstatement fee. To be eligible, these requests must be made by phone.
From April 1, 2015, JAL International Award Tickets for one-way travel will be available at half the mileage required for a round-trip award ticket, provided that reservations are made by phone.
With this service, customers with a JAL international award ticket can apply for a change to a higher class of service upon check-in at the airport on the day of departure.
This service can be used when a seat is available in the next higher class of service than that of the award ticket.
From December 1, 2014, this service will allow customers to upgrade to Premium Economy Class upon check-in at the airport on the day of departure.
This service can be used when a seat is available in the next higher class of service than that of the purchased ticket.
With this service, JMB miles can be used to pay for excess baggage charges on JAL international flights.
Effective April 1, 2015, a Ticketing Service Fee will be introduced for reservation changes made by phone.
Effective for requests made from April 1, 2015, changes to upgrade award reservations will not be permitted after the reservation is made and mileage is deducted.
At the same time, the reinstatement fee for canceling and refunding an unused upgrade award will be abolished.
The More FLY ON Points Promotion will be continued in 2015, awarding 400 bonus FLY ON Points per flight boarded with eligible fares.
