- The required mileage is determined based on the distance of total award itinerary (total of sector mileage for each sector and surface sector).
- Awards issued for children and infants require the same mileage as those issued for adults.
- In addition to the required mileage for the awards listed above, fuel surcharges and other taxes will be collected.
- The distance of the surface sector is included in the total distance of award itinerary.
- *1 First class may be used on AA flights operated with 2 classes of service (economy class and first class).
TAXES AND FEES:
Each award is subject to government-imposed taxes and fees which must be paid by the customer when award travel is ticketed.
These fees are calculated based on the customer's specific itinerary.
JMB awards are subject to, and the passenger is responsible for, the September 11th Security Fee, applicable departure taxes, federal inspection fees, passenger facility charges, and any other taxes and fees imposed by a government entity (U.S. or foreign), as well as any fees or surcharges (including fuel surcharges if applicable) imposed by the carrier.
Following are example of TAXES and FEES and Carrier-IMPOSED FEES (if applicable) charged to the customer in addition to JMB Miles for travel on single carrier departing from U.S. to gateway city on direct flight on round-trip basis (single round-trip, two segments basis).
JAPAN AIRLINES (JL): North America to Japan round-trip: minimum USD668.10, maximum USD680.80 in addition to required mileage.
AIR BERLIN (AB): U.S. to Germany round-trip: maximum $140.20.
AMERICAN AIRLINES (AA): U.S. to Japan round-trip: minimum $75.60, maximum $81.40.
BRITISH AIRWAYS (BA): U.S. to U.K round-trip: minimum $566.40, maximum $920.00.
CATHAY PACIFIC AIRWAYS (CX/KA): U.S. to Hong Kong round-trip: maximum $320.50.
FINNAIR (AY): U.S. to Finland round-trip: maximum $72.30.
IBERIA (IB): U.S. to Spain round-trip: maximum $166.20.
LAN (LA): U.S. to Chile round-trip: maximum $84.40.
QANTAS (QF): U.S. to Australia round-trip: minimum $830.30, maximum $951.30.
ROYAL JORDANIAN (RJ): U.S. to Jordan round-trip: maximum $119.40.
For oneworld Award Tickets, final fees collected from the customer will vary by choice and combination of oneworld airlines.
