How to use "Suica Awards"

"Suica Award" is the award eligible only for JALCARD Suica. Suica members Suica can be charged with ¥10,000 in exchange for 10,000 miles. After having applied for an award and receive Suica charge (¥10,000) by JALCARD Suica at ATM booth "VIEW ALTTE" of East Japan Railway Company (JR Higashi-Nihon) Station and you can use Suica charge for train travel and for shopping at shops with signage.

Required Mileage for an Exchange

10,000 miles are exchanged for Suica award equivalent to ¥10,000.
  • *Exchange unit is 10,000 miles at one time.
  • *Maximum number of exchanges is twice (20,000 miles) for a year (from April to March ).

How to Apply for and Receive Awards

Apply to exchange accumulated mileages in your JMB miles account for Suica Awards.

JAL Website

Cardholders of JALCARD Suica can apply for awards online at www.jal.co.jp/.(available only in Japanese) You are required to provide your JMB membership number and 6-digit PIN number when applying for an award.
  • *The awards are exchanged in units of 10,000 points.

Charging Suica award to JALCARD Suica

<Receiving period>

  • When application for the award is completed by 17:30, charging period will be from 6:00 next day through 23:00 of the last day of 2 months following the month in which application was made.
  • When application for the award is completed later than 17:30, charging period will be from 6:00 on the day after next day through 23:00 of the last day of 2 months following the month in which application was made.

  • *Deadline to receive Suica award is the end of two months following the month when the exchange from miles to award is completed.
    Please note that if you do not charge Suica to JALCARD Suica by the deadline, you cannot use Suica award.
  • *After charging Suica Award to JALCARD Suica, you can use it at any time.
  • When charging, JALCARD Suica and 4-digit PIN is required which was made at the time of application for "JALCARD Suica". (Charge to Suica cards other than "JALCARD Suica" cannot be made.)
  • *Maximum charging amount to "Suica" is ¥20,000 and charging amount of Suica award is in increments of ¥10,000. Therefore, when the balance of JALCARD Suica is more than ¥10,000, you can not charge. Please confirm the balance of JALCARD Suica before charging it.

Use

You can use Suica charge for train travel and for shopping at shops with signage. For more details regarding the locations of where Suica can be used, please visit JR website.

Notes on Awards Usage

  • Members who have been registered for JALCARD Family Program can combine miles and the combined miles can be exchanged for Suica Awards.
  • Only JALCARD Suica members can use Suica Award.
  • You can charge Suica Award only to JALCARD Suica and not to any other Suica cards. Please note that the locations accepting JAL COUPON awards and e JAL POINT awards differ from those accepting Suica Awards.
  • For more details regarding locations of VIEW ALTTE at major East Japan Railway Company stations, and shops where Suica can be used, please visit website.
  • You cannot apply for Suica Awards at JAL Mileage Bank Japan Region member office, JMB Award Reservations desks, JAL reservations and information, JAL Group City Ticketing Offices, airport ticket sales counters, JALCARD store and View Card Center. Miles once deducted cannot be refunded to your JMB mileage account.
  • Miles once deducted after the application for an award cannot be refunded to the mileage account, nor exchanged for other awards even before you receive the award or even if you do not use the award.
  • Suica Awards are not eligible for Mileage Reinstatement Service for unused awards.
