Awards can be used by the JMB member and the following relatives designated by the member : (If a person other than the member will be using the awards, the designated user may be required to show proof of relationship to the member.)

• • JMB members may not combine their mileage in order to receive awards.
• • Mileage accumulated in other companies' mileage programs cannot be combined with JMB mileage in order to receive awards (except Mileage pool of "JALCARD Family Program" members).
• • Awards issued for children and infants require the same mileage as those issued for adults. Infants may posses (1) a mileage award ticket, or (2) an infant-fare ticket based on the same class of service as that which is to be utilized by the adults traveling with the infant, or (3) an infant-fare ticket based on a lower class of service plus an upgrade certificate. Infants traveling on infant-fare tickets will not occupy their own seat.
• • Regardless of who uses the award, the member himself/herself must contact the JMB Award Reservations Desk to redeem awards. Requests from a person other than the member will not be accepted.
• • The member himself/herself must request the Awards regardless of who uses those Awards. However, members who wish to entrust another person to do so should complete an official proxy registration form and submit it to the JMB Center, Japan.

• • Once redeemed, mileage cannot be refunded to your account or used in exchange for a different award even if the award is completely unused. Deducted mileage from member's account can only be refunded by using the "Mileage Reinstatement Service for Unused Awards", see the below.
• • Taxes, charges and various handling fees such as fuel surcharges and airport taxes applicable for international award tickets or upgrade awards will be collected from the applicable JMB member or the user of awards.

  (When traveling with partner airlines, the amount of “Fuel Surcharge” and “Security Surcharge” may differ in application from JAL Group airlines.)

By paying the applicable fee, it will be possible to reinstate (return) mileage to your JMB account under certain conditions. This service will be limited only to award tickets and upgrade awards that have been already reserved and issued and still are completely unused. Also, any mileage returned must go into the same exact JMB account from which it was redeemed.

• ※The handling fee will be the equivalent of ¥3,000 (tax included) or 3,000 miles per each award.
• ※In order to reinstate mileage, the award must be totally unused, the validity of such awards must not have yet expired and the award must be returned to JMB Award Reservations Desk in Japan.
• ※Even if the award is still totally unused, mileage cannot be reinstated for JAL Group domestic award tickets after the first flight of the award ticket has departed.
  Please allow approximately a week for miles to be refunded.
• ※The validity of any reinstated mileage will be the original validity of those miles before they were used to issue the award. Mileage cannot be reinstated if it has already expired by the time you request to have it reinstated.
• ※One handling fee will be charged per each award that you have reinstated.
• ※Mileage cannot be reinstated for Japan domestic flight ticket awards and International upgrade awards after the first departure date has already passed. Before you travel on the first sector of the itinerary, please cancel the flight reservations and apply fpr this service through the JMB Award Reservation Desk of your membership registration.
• ※We cannot refund charges (such as handling fees, expedite or same-day handling charges) and delivery fees.
• ※Charges are to be paid by one of the following credit cards : JALCARD, Visa, Master Card, JCB, Diner's, American Express, DC, Million, UC, NICOS, Cedyna, Daiei OMC, Central Finance, Saison, Orico, Aeon, Persona, Mycal.
