| Japan Airlines has a 10-year-record as a supporter
of world-class motor-sport events since 1987 including FIA Formula 1 World Championship
(known as F1, the world's highest level car race), FIM World Championships (known
as the F-1 of motorcycling) and the ITC (International Touring Car Championship)
the greatest racing event of touring cars held for the first time in Japan. Among
other great events, F-1 strictly requires highly qualified drivers, mechanics
and staff. It is also a top-class user of air transport. JAL is fully confident
to supply the best service for these demanding customers. |
|
|
Usually the interval between Suzuka and the next race
is planned to be 10days, but less than a week is given to complete all the transport
including custom formalities, because it takes several days to reconstruct the
racing cars. Within this limited time, several hundred tons of cargo have to be
transported smoothly and precisely to the next destination. In 1996, we have operated
four round-trip flights and have succeeded in transportating four-hundred tons
of cargo. |
| When the first F-1 Japan Grand-prix race took place in 1987 at
Suzuka, JAL developed an exclusive transport system with the cooperation of FOCA
(Formula One Constructors Association). This was designed to carry only F-1 race
cars, highly sensitive machines which cost several million dollars to produce.
Since then, our successful record has lasted for a decade. With our rich skills
and experience, we are also succeeding in developing business to other motor-sport
events. With the will to provide continuous confidence to our customers, we are
devoting ourselves to more intensive sales and service efforts. |
