Expansion of Cargo Flight Code Sharing on JAL Pacific Routes

The cargo flight code sharing with Northwest Airlines (NWA) on Pacific routes that began on September 26, on 14 flights per week departing and arriving Narita, will enter Phase 2 next January. The details of the increased number of flights and scope expansion are given below.

1. In Phase 1 from September to December, there was code sharing for 12 eastbound and 2 westbound flights per week departing Japan, for a total of 14 flights. In Phase 2, there will be a roughly 50% increase in flights, with 11 eastbound and 9 westbound per week, for a total of 20 flights.

2. The purpose of increased code sharing is to expand the flight network of JALCARGO, and to provide customers with even better shipment schedules.

3. All flights in Phases 1 and 2 depart or arrive Narita.

4. In Phase 1, Anchorage and New York were the only US departure points for westbound flights, but in Phase 2 this will be expanded to five cities, with the addition of Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The number of destinations for eastbound flights departing Japan has also increased to five, with the addition of New York. The table below shows the flight frequency for US destinations. Also see the attached table for details on the weekly schedules.
