Vegetarian Meal

(VLML / VGML)

We offer vegetarian meals free of egg and dairy products (VGML) as well as vegetarian meals that include egg and dairy products (VLML).

(RVML)

This meal consists mainly of raw fruits and vegetables. It contains no highly processed foods, additives, or preservatives.

Minimal Allergen Meal Menus

JAL has teamed up with globally renowned minimal allergen food producer. Tsuji Anzen Shokuhin Co., Ltd. (Tsuji Foods Ltd.) to create a delicious and nutritious new in-flight menu.
With the exception of green salad and fruits dishes, all meals are prepared by Tsuji Foods Ltd. in kitchens exclusively used for minimal allergen meals. All meals including green salad and fruits are subsequently readied for serving in our official airline catering company’s kitchens, which is not a minimal allergen kitchens. All main entrees have been exclusively created for JAL by Tsuji Foods Ltd.

This meal contains no buckwheat, crab, dairy products, eggs, peanuts, shrimp, or wheat.

Minimal Allergen 27 Meal

In addition to the seven major allergens, this meal contains no abalone, apples, bananas, beef, cashew nuts, chicken, gelatin, kiwifruits, mackerel, matsutake mushrooms, oranges, peaches, pork, salmon, salmon roe, sesame, soybeans, squid, walnuts, or yamaimo yams.

This meal is designed to be easy to digest for passengers with gastrointestinal ailments. It contains no strongly flavored or deep-fried foods, black pepper, chili powder, caffeine, or other gastrointestinal irritants.

This meal is designed for passengers who restrict their sodium intake. It contains no high-sodium foods or seasonings.

Hindu Vegetarian Meal
(Asian) (AVML)

This is a spicy, Asian-style vegetarian meal. It contains no meat, fish, eggs, lard, gelatin, or other animal-based ingredients.

This meal is prepared in accordance with Hindu dietary laws. It contains no beef, pork, or seafood.

Jain Vegetarian Meal
(VJML)

This meal is prepared in accordance with Jain doctrine. It contains no meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, or root vegetables.

Japan Airlines will be serving Muslim meals which have received halal certification*1 from the Japan Islamic Trust*2 on all international flights from Japan.

  • *1 A religious corporation registered with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Has issued halal certification from 1999. Approved as a certifying entity in Japan by halal certifying entities in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Thailand.
  • *2 Meals which have cleared criteria in accordance with Islamic laws and legally approved by Islamic laws.

This meal is blessed and sealed according to Jewish kosher laws and customs.

Ordering through the JAL Website

Special in-flight meals may be ordered after booking a ticket through the JAL Website.

  • *Baby and child meals may be ordered on the "Passenger Information" screen when booking a new ticket.

On the "Booking Details" screen, select "Order In-Flight Meal Service" at the bottom of the flight details section to order a meal.

STEP2Select your desired meal

On the "Order In-Flight Meal and Child Services" screen, select your desired meal and click the "Order" button.
