Airlines that can be booked
On this website, bookings can be made for JAL international flights.
- * Additionally, bookings can be made with other airlines for certain connecting flights. When booking a flight on another airline, reconfirmation may be required. Check with the individual airline for details.

Who can book online?
All passengers and their travel companions can book online. An e-mail address is required to make a booking.
- * The person making the booking must be a passenger on the itinerary.
- * A JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) member must be at least 12 years of age to make a booking online.
- * Login is available only for JMB members in the Japan region. JMB members in other regions may make bookings without logging in.
Online bookings cannot be held for purchase at a later time. It will be necessary to purchase the ticket upon completion of the online booking process.
Bookings such as the following cannot be made online.

Ticketing Service Fee for International Ticket.
- For travel by a solo infant or child, see notes 1 and 2.
- When two or more infants are traveling with one adult
- When four or more children under 11 years of age are traveling with one adult
- When purchasing a Child Fare for an infant for the use of a seat
- A pregnant passenger falling under any of the following:
* Medical Information Form (MEDIF) must be submitted. Click here to download the Medical Information Form (MEDIF) .
- When the expected date of delivery is within four weeks (28 days)
- There is some doubt concerning the expected date of delivery
- In the case of a multiple pregnancy
- If there is a history of early delivery
- When a stretcher, medical device or medical oxygen tank is required

- When a passenger requires more than one seat
- 1. When an infant or a child does not travel in the same aircraft or class of service as an adult for at least one portion of a trip, the trip is considered to be without an adult.
(This includes situations in which the adult uses an award ticket and a ticket is purchased for the infant or child -
- 2. For JL/AA code-share flights (American Airlines), passengers up to 14 are considered children.
Bookings for passengers between 12 and 14 years of age traveling alone and using a JL/AA code-share flight (American Airlines) are accepted by
telephone.

The number of passengers in a booking
- * Note that as of the start date of itinerary, passengers less than two years of age are considered infants, and those under 12 are considered children. Infants do not have their own seat.
The number of passengers per booking
- Up to nine passengers (adults and children combined) can be booked in a single booking.
The number of infants and children per adult
- One infant may travel per adult.
- Up to three infants and children combined may travel per adult.

- When an infant or a child travels unaccompanied*
- When an adult travels with two or more infants
- When an adult travels with four or more children (whether or not including an infant)

Normal Fares and discount fares set by JAL can be booked online
- * A Working Holiday & Exchange Student and a Exchange Student Fare are exceptions, being a discount fare set by JAL which cannot be booked online

How far in advance bookings can be made
- Reservation is available from 10:00AM of 330 days prior to the departure date of your itinerary's final returning flight sector. And through the web site can be booked until the eariler of either 23:59 a day before departure or 6hours before the departure.*

- Discount fares can be booked from the day they are made available until the purchase deadline.
* As to some cases, the deadline for purchase is 14:00 a day before departure.
- In case of Japan domestic flight wchich depart before noon is in your itinerary.
- In case of the first flight depart s berore noon and Connection flight operated by other airline is in your itinerary.
- In case of international cordshare flight which depart before noon and from other than HANEDA/NARITA/KANSAI/NAGOYA.
- In case of paying by IC.

Itineraries that can be booked
- One way - Normal Fares only
- Round trip
- Open-jaw travel - in which the outbound arrival airport and return departure airport are different
Example: Outbound from Tokyo to London, return from Paris to Tokyo
- Due to U.S. regulation, itineraries between U.S. mainland/Hawaii and Guam/Saipan via Japan
(and vice versa) must contain one or more international section(s) operated(*) by U.S. carriers.
(*)U.S. carrier flights marketed by Japan Airlines are not included.

Portions that can be booked
Portions between a city in Japan served by the JAL Group and a JAL Economy Saver city (bookings may not be available for all cities)
Domestic flights connecting to an international flight within 24 hours can be selected.

Duplicate booking
In order to provide confirmed space reservations for as many customers as possible, Japan Airlines may request that duplicate bookings be cancelled, particularly when flights are full. At the time of such request, JAL will concurrently impose a time limit as to when the duplicate booking must be cancelled.
When a duplicate booking is not cancelled within the requested time limit, JAL will cancel the duplicate bookings. The remaining booking will be selected as follows:
1) The booking that was most recently confirmed in each flight direction will remain
OR
2) In cases of concurrent confirmation, the booking reflecting the earliest flight departure in each direction will remain

Seat assignment
Seat assignments can be made for JAL Group flights at the time of booking.
Seat assignments cannot be made in the following situations:
- When all seats available for advance seat selection have already been assigned
- If the departure date is the day after the booking
- If the departures date of a Japan domestic flight is at least two months and 15 days after the day of booking
- Other airlines’ flights
- Most code-share flights not operated by the JAL Group aircraft and crew. (If advance seat selection is available on such a flight, the system will guide you.)
- For the following segments:
Segments beginning and ending out side of Japan.
- Flights operating under the same flight number composed of more than one segment in which the aircraft changes at an intermediate location.
- Due to safety reasons, an infant under the age of 2 who occupies a seat may not be accepted on some First Class seats.
- All Deutsche Bahn Rail Services.
Important Notices
- Please arrive at the check-in counter one hour before the departure time. After this time, pre-selected seats may be released.
- Passengers seated in a seat near an emergency exit may be asked to assist in case of emergency.
- Passengers flying with an infant may not sit near an emergency exit or on the upper deck.

Purchase information
Fare amount display
- If the fare amount differs from that shown during the purchase process, we will contact you by e-mail or telephone. This may occur due to fare revision, current exchange fluctuation or system error. We thank you for your understanding.
Type of ticket
- An e-ticket will be issued.
What is an e-ticket?
- An e-ticket is a ticket held electronically in JAL’s computer system in place of a paper ticket.
- Passengers should carry their e-ticket itinerary/receipt throughout their travel.
- As the e-ticket itinerary/receipt can easily be reissued, there is no concern about your ticket being lost or stolen.
Payment method

Only credit card payment is accepted for online purchases. The following conditions apply.
When you have logged in to the web as a JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) member:
Credit cards of any of the travelers booked in the online reservation may be used. In addition, cards owned by third parties are also accepted for payment.
When you have NOT logged in to the web as a JMB member:
Only credit cards of one of the travelers booked in the online reservation are accepted. If JALCARD is to be used for payment, however, the cardholder may be any third party.
E-ticket delivery
- In some cases, we may contact you by telephone to confirm details of your request. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
- E-mail transmission may be delayed due to various circumstances.
- 1. Click the Finalize purchase button to complete the purchase and display the purchase complete page.
- 2. Within one hour, you will receive an e-mail confirming your purchase.
- 3. Print out the e-ticket itinerary/receipt contained in the e-mail.
Ticket delivery method
- The e-ticket itinerary/receipt will be sent by e-mail to the designated e-mail address. Print out the e-ticket itinerary/receipt and present it when checking in at the airport.
Receipt issuance
- A receipt is available by request. Please refer to the instructions provided in the Purchase Confirmation e-mail sent after purchase.
Changes and cancellations after the purchase is made
- Once the purchase complete page displays, the purchase request is complete.
- Changes to a booking may not be permitted after the purchase request is complete as per fare regulations. If the fare regulations permit a change, charges may apply and/or the new price may be different.
- Cancellations after purchase are subject to a cancellation or refund charge.

Business Class passengers
Passengers traveling internationally on Business Class are eligible for Class J on Japan domestic flights without an additional fee.
Note that this does not apply to special C Class Fares on other airlines, and limited to domestic flight segments included in international fares.

Passengers traveling with a JMB international upgrade award
To use an Upgrade Award, first purchase a ticket for the flight.
Then contact us to apply the Upgrade Award as this cannot be done online.
If there are no seats available for an upgrade on the requested flight, the class of the purchased fare will be accommodated. When refunding a ticket as a result of no seats being available for an upgrade, a cancellation and charge will apply.

1) the fare for that portion and

- Notice regarding fuel and insurance surcharges for international flights
The JAL Group includes
a fuel surcharge and an insurance surcharge on all international tickets.
- For passengers flying US routes (excluding Guam) including transit.
- Even passengers whose nationality applies to the Visa Waiver Program must hold a machine-readable passport to board a connecting flight in the US (excluding Guam) or to enter the US.

- Tickets are non-transferrable. The name on the ticket cannot be changed after issuance.
- Tickets must be used in the right sequence shown in the itinerary from the place of departure through any agreed stopping place to the final place of destination. A ticket is no longer valid if a passenger does not use all the coupons in the sequence provided in the ticket.
- If using a paper ticket, do not remove the passenger receipt from the ticket.
- Some countries require a minimum time period remaining on a visa or passport for entry. Passengers are responsible for confirming the requirements for the countries of their travel in advance.
