"QuiC" service of international flight allows customers to select seats, check in on JAL website (Web Check-in) and print out the boarding passes in advance, which makes it easier and quicker to board their flights without check-in at the airport. Please make good use of this convenient service.

How to use

Step1Prepare your Home Print Boarding Pass/Mobile Boarding pass.

Select your seat and register your passport data. Print your e-ticket itinerary receipt and bring boarding pass(either printed out or on mobile) to the airport

Step2At the airport, proceed directly to security- no need to check-in.

No need to line up at the check-in counter. Drop your baggage at the Fast Baggage Drop counter, and proceed directly to security.

Step3Tap the boarding pass at the boarding gate. Enjoy your flight!

On the day of departure, please bring along the required documents, including your Home Print Boarding Pass or Mobile Boarding Pass, your e-ticket receipt and passport. You can go straight to the security checkpoint if you have no baggage to check in.

Home Print Boarding Pass

  • What is Home Print Boarding Pass?

    This is a boarding pass that you can print out from your PC after Web Check-in. It can be printed from 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
    Please note that document without a 2D barcode on it cannot be used as a boarding pass. (Please pick up your boarding pass at the airport counter in such case.)

Mobile Boarding Pass

  • What is Mobile Boarding Pass?

    This is a boarding pass that you can receive on your smartphone after Web Check-in. You can receive it from 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight. The iPhone app "Wallet" is also supported.

  • If you have baggage to check in, please drop your baggage at the baggage counter no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight.
  • At some airports, a home print boarding pass or a mobile boarding pass is not applicable. In that case, please proceed your check-in procedure at our check-in counters, or the Self-Check-in Machine (Kiosk).

About Web Check-in

Web Check-in (From 24 hours to 1 hour prior to flight departure)

This service allows you to select your own seat from a seat map and check in. If you have already chosen a seat, you can change your seat selection using Web Check-in.

  • *Some seats, such as seats that can be fitted with a baby bassinet, are excluded.
    As this service is on a first-come, first-serve basis, appreciate your understanding that the seat of your choice may not be always available.

Web Check-in available times

From 24 hours to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time of an international flight.

  • *Service will be suspended during aircraft change or maintenance.

Who can use Web Check-in

Customers using an e-ticket.

However, the following customers are excluded.

  1. Passenger with several different flights from the same airport on the same day in the same booking
  2. Passenger requiring special assistance at boarding*1
  3. If there is another passengers with the same first and last names in the same booking
  4. If the Reservation Number for JAL flight is not registered in the booking*2
  5. If the Authorization Number is not registered in the booking *3
  6. Some tour/package tickets not eligible for web check-in *3
  7. If the flight information in the booking has been updated due to reservation change, but the flight information in the ticket has not yet been updated accordingly.
  8. Passenger traveling to the U.S. and holding a valid and unexpired U.S. visa.
  • *1Passenger traveling with an infant (under 2 years old) may select seats on Web Check-in, but is required to collect the boarding passes at the check-in counter.
  • *2For bookings made by travel agents, the Reservation Number issued by their systems may differ from the one for JAL flight. Please make sure to input the Reservation Number for JL/Japan Airlines flight.
  • *3Please check with your travel agent where you purchased the ticket.

For the international ticket that includes Japan domestic sector, Web Check-in is possible from the international flight to the domestic flight.

Please note that this service is not available on codeshare flights operated by carriers other that American Airlines (AA), British Airways (BA), Finnair (AY), and Iberia (IB).

  • *Customers using package may also use this service.

About the flights operated by other airlines(AA/BA/AY/IB)

You can use Web Check-in for American Airlines (AA), British Airways (BA), and Iberia (IB) flights from 24 hours prior to departure, and for Finnair (AY) flights from 36 hours prior to departure. You will be transferred from the JAL website to the partner carrier's website.
Web Check-in ends two hours prior to departure for American Airlines (AA) flights, and one hour prior to departure for British Airways (BA), Iberia (IB), and Finnair (AY) flights.

  • *This service may not be available for certain flights booked through a travel agency.

To cancel the completed Web Check-in

If you wish to cancel boarding the international flight for which Web Check-in has been completed, you can do so from the JAL website until 1 hour prior to the flight departure time. To cancel check-in, please select your itinerary under "Web Check-in" on the JAL website and follow the procedures. If you have already checked baggage, please go to a check-in counter to cancel. Please note that the itinerary itself will not be canceled.

About "Web Check-in advance registration"

Web Check-in advance registration (More than 24 hours before flight departure)

This service automatically checks you in 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time when you enter your passport number and other required information after purchasing your ticket. You will receive your boarding pass via a Web Check-in notification e-mail.

  • *You must meet the requirements for Web Check-in to be checked in automatically.
  • *If you have not yet selected a seat, the system will automatically select one for you.
  • *An e-mail will be sent 24 hours prior to your flight's departure. Please check this e-mail to confirm that your Web Check-in was successful.

Available times for Web Check-in advance registration

Before travel commencement : after ticket purchase until 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the first flight

After travel commencement : 24 hours after the departure time of the previous flight until 24 hours prior to the departure time of the next flight

Who can use "Web Check-in advance registration"

Customers using the e-ticket issued by JAL Group

  • *Web Check-in advance registration (automatic check-in) is not applicable to bookings made outside JAL (such as travel agency, other airlines) and package / tour tickets.

However, the following customers are excluded.

  1. Passenger with several different flights from the same airport on the same day in the same booking.
  2. Passenger requiring special assistance at boarding.*1
  3. If there is another passengers with the same first and last names in the same booking.
  4. If the flight information in the booking has been updated due to reservation change, but the flight information in the ticket has not yet been updated accordingly.
  5. Passenger traveling to the U.S. and holding a valid and unexpired U.S. visa.
  6. Passenger traveling to the U.S. and holding a green card.
  • *1Passenger traveling with an infant (under 2 years old) may select seats on Web Check-in, but is required to collect the boarding passes at the check-in counter.

About e-mail destination

"Notice of Web Check-in Result" will be sent to the e-mail address registered at the time of booking or Web Check-in advance registration.

  • *If you have already registered your e-mail address and mobile e-mail address in JMB member information, "Notice of Web Check-in Result" will be sent to your mobile e-mail address.
  • *If you added or changed the e-mail address of the Reserved Flight E-mail / Flight Information E-mail from "Related Services" on the reservation details page, "Notice of Web Check-in" will be sent to the last added or changed e-mail address.

To cancel the completed Web Check-in

If you wish to cancel boarding the international flight for which Web Check-in has been completed, you can do so from the JAL website until 1 hour prior to the flight departure time. To cancel check-in, please select your itinerary under "Web Check-in" on the JAL website and follow the procedures. Please note that the itinerary itself will not be canceled.
