Flights operated by JAL will arrive at Terminal 3.

Terminal 3

On the 2nd floor, there are immigration screening, transit counters, Fast-Track and stairs/escalators to the 1st floor. You can find Terminal circular bus outside. On the 1st floor, there are baggage claim, currency exchange offices and toilets. Once you pass through customs, there are currency exchange offices, airport informtion counters, elevators and stands for trains/taxis/buses.

When a minor aged 18 years or under is traveling into the United Kingdom alone, he/she must inform the Immigration Officer of the information as specified in (1) and (2). If the minor is not able to give this information verbally, they must prepare a document (in English) that contains the following information.

  1. Name of airport pick-up person and mobile telephone number
  2. Address and telephone number in the UK
Information about Fast Track (Immigration priority lane)
  • First Class passengers are able to use Fast Track, a priority lane through Immigration.
  • You will require a special coupon in order to use the lane, which will be handed out on your flight into London.
  • Please look for signs saying "Fast Track".

Customs

Duty-free applies to tobacco and alcohol purchases by passengers aged 17 and above.
If your goods are not in excess of the duty-free limit, please proceed to the green customs lane.
Otherwise, please proceed through the red customs lane and make a verbal declaration of the goods you are bringing in.

Pets

Prior reservation is necessary if you wish to bring your pet, as the transportation environment within the aircraft needs to be prepared.

Terminal 3

On the 1st floor, there are check-in counters, currency exchange offices, elevators, toilets and stairs/escalators to the 2nd floor. On the 2nd floor, there are toilets, currency exchange offices and elevators. Once you pass through security and immigration control, there are currency exchange offices, toilets, elevators, British Airways Gallerries Fiest Lounge and Galleries Club Lounge.

Departure regulations

Check-in

Check-in opens 3 hours prior to departure. Please check in at Zone D of Terminal 3.

Please note that the maximum weight per item of checked baggage on JAL Group flights leaving from London Heathrow International Airport must not be in excess of 32kg (70lbs).

Security check

Your carry-on baggage will be checked in an X-ray machine.

Immigration

Your passport will not be stamped upon departure.
Immigration is sometimes unmanned. In that case, please proceed through without inspection.

Information about Fast Track (Security check priority lane)
  • First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as members of JMB Diamond, JGC Premier, and oneworld Emerald Status passengers can use the Fast Track priority lane for their security check.
  • Please look for signs saying "Fast Track".
  • Access is possible for First Class and Business Class passengers showing their boarding passes, and for other passengers showing their status cards.

Customs

  • *You may be asked to present the goods for inspection during the duty-free check. There can sometimes be a long wait, so please ensure that you allow plenty of time.
  • *If you are returning to Japan via transfer from another EU country, you will need to carry out customs procedures at the airport from which your Japan-bound flight departs. It is still possible that you may be asked to present the items for inspection, so please ensure that you do not put them in your checked baggage on the connecting flight.
